XtremeMac today released information about its new Xtremity iPod Accessory System for 3G iPods with dock connectors. The Xtremity system features the Xtremity iPod Case, Xtremity ClearShield - removable, optically- clear Lexan flex-cover, Xtremity Low-profile Dash-Mount, Xtremity Swivel Belt-clip, dock connector dust plug and adhesive adjustment pad - used with thinner iPods. The complete system sells for $29.99 and is available now for shipping by Christmas.

“The foundation of the Xtremity system is the Xtremity iPod Case, designed to be a natural extension of the iPod. It forms the basis for seamless integration with a number of add on accessories such as battery packs, FM transmitters, Bluetooth Wireless Transmitters, belt- clips, dash mounts and more. All of the add-ons simply slide in place on the back of the Xtremity case and “disappear” behind the iPod, maintaining its elegant design.”

Editor’s note: Notice that XtremeMac has mentioned ‘Bluetooth Wireless Transmitters’ in the above quote. Here is a recent news item about XtremeMac releasing a Bluetooth transmitter in early 2004. The Xtremity webpage states that the Bluetooth transmitter is coming soon.

I am not very happy with Extreme Mac right now. I ordered one of their iPod cases in AUGUST!!  EARLY AUGUST!! and have yet to receive it. I have called numerous times and been told that at any moment they should received them to send out. After awhile that gets pretty stale. My recommendation - if you preorder hold your breath. I for one will wait until I see the product is already in and shipping

I would follow Doug’s comments on any iPod item; there have been way too many delays (Griffin, iSkin) for anyone to preorder anything.

I agree with Doug. EXtrememac = Extrememe backorder. I hope this new case isnt like thier car charger..where they promise it will ship, and it never does. stay away from the pre-order scam

i just got my xtremety case right on xmas day as promised. amazing! i was virtually sure they will not keep their word to get all early orders by xmas. and it is a very nice piece of work. the front cover is a bit cheap looking but overall not bad. it is essentially a hard white plastic box and lacks the softness and luxury of leather, but it exposes ipod more and kind of blends with it.
