Yamaha has introduced its new TSX-140 speaker system for the iPod and iPhone. The TSX-140 features a rectangular design, a built-in CD player, Universal Dock, AM/FM radio, dual USB ports—one for playback of MP3 or WMA files stored on a USB thumb drive, one for syncing—two 3.5-inch ported bass reflex speakers, DSP audio processing, a front-facing LED display, an auxiliary input, and IntelliAlarm, a unique alarm clock feature that initially filters out unpleasant high frequencies, and gradually restores the full audio spectrum as the user wakes. Yamaha’s TSX-140 speaker system for the iPod and iPhone is available now and sells for $400.

Specs aside, that is one butt-ugly color. Yamaha calls it “brick”, which I suppose goes with the blocky theme, but luckily its also available in black and gray.

@#1,
Actually, I have some friends with studios and living space in Pasadena which are old (100+) converted business spaces comprised of old, red bricks.
This would look beautiful in such an environment.
It may not suit everyone, but ugly as is beauty, is in the eye of the beholder

If it had airplay I’d buy it today. Will someone please release a stylish alarm clock with decent sound and airplay? Hello, untapped market…
