This may be the coolest thing I have seen yet. I want it…

Yeah it’s kind of cool, but why is everyone wanting to make the iPad a laptop, which it is not?

@eric: For those times when you don’t want to carry around a laptop but need the ability to do quick data entry.
I want my iPad to act like the tablet it is 95% of the time. However, for business users or students there’s a benefit. I can’t tell you how many times I was typing up notes and have gotten way behind because I have to keep hitting the “symbols” key to get to normal keyboard symbols.
In those cases, had I had a more functional keyboard, I would have taken better quality notes, yet still had them right on my iPad where i want them.
There is a group of people this makes PERFECT sense for, and many it makes NO sense for.

I will admit that the ZAGGmate does make the iPad more laptop like. I traveled with one and found it rather enjoyable.
Here’s my review.

So the virtual keyboard still comes up on the screen, even while using a bluetooth keyboard? Hmm, I sure hope Apple gives us an option to disable or hide the virtual keyboard in an OS update. I’ve got this Zaggmate being delivered soon.. I didn’t realize the virtual keyboard still pops up. It takes up too much of the screen… no need for it to be there if you’re using an external keyboard!
This product seems like the best option out there though for a bluetooth keyboard and overall protection. Lots of leather or leatherette keyboard cases out there, but aluminum is much better IMO. Great design.

Oh, from a bit of Googling, the keyboard actually is hidden when using a bluetooth keyboard.
Hey Mike, you should change that pic in your review. I saw that and thought the keyboard stays on the screen.
