ZoomMediaPlus has announced its new zoomIt application-enabled accessory for the iPhone and iPod touch. Working in conjunction with the company’s free zoomIt app, the Works With iPhone- and Made For iPod-certified Dock-connecting accessory enables users to access a variety of content stored on any SD card mounted in the zoomIt’s SD card slot. Features include support for all iPhone OS 3.0 file types, including photos, videos, music, and documents, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, PDF and others. The app lets users view, listen and share the files via e-mail, Facebook, and Flickr, and supports the transfer of files from the card to the iPhone or iPod touch for unconnected access. In addition, the app will enable users to save photos and videos from the card to their Camera Rolls, or move media from the Camera Roll onto the SD card. The company also plans future updates to support protected content types enabling the streaming of licensed music, videos, and other forms of protected content. The zoomIT SD Card accessory for iPhone and iPod touch is expected to ship in April for $59.95, and is available for pre-order now. ZoomMediaPlus is offering pre-order customers a $10 discount, and will bundle a free 4GB Kingston SD card with the first 250 orders.

Apple has already planned for a Camera Connection Kit to be released for the iPad. The question remains if the kit will work with the iPod touch and iPhone.

Perfect. Great for backing up and viewing pix while away from home. No need to lug a laptop along for the job.

@Dennis: As far as I know the camera connection kit does not work with iphone or ipod touch. But apple can always change their mind anytime. I’m not sure also if it will work with 3rd party application, but from the description it seems like it only works with their photo album & video.

This is a great idea. However I attempted to place a order via Paypal, and the company/Paypal is attempting to charge 11.50% sales tax. I’m located in Calif where tax is 8.250% and in no where of the state is the tax as high as 11.50% I emailed paypal and the company hoping that they will address the issue. I will not place a order for onver-inflated taxes. I really like the product but not for additional taxes. Use the correct tax table and I will be in line to pre order. I cannot place and pay through the company as they use Paypal for there e-commerce currency.

From all indications, this product will be shipped out of Silicon Valley, Los Gatos are [Near San Jose, CA] The CA sales tax rate for the whole area is 9.250% I notice the L.A. area’s tax rate is 9.75% [The highest I have seen in CA.
You can check the CA BOE rate tables at http://www.boe.ca.gov/
ZoomMediaPlus,Inc is also over charging for S&H, $8.74 for me 86 miles away, when UPS rate is $7.40, USPS 1st Class is $1.90, and U.S. Priority flat enevelope or box is $4.80
Sales tax is also charged for the total invoice amount including S&H.
The Zoomit itunes store app [Free] is online for download now, and their .99 cents download app “Pink Panther”
Looks as if this will be a very popular piece of hardware that mates with iPhone & iTouch 30 pin Dock.
Anyone heard if its compatible with the iPOD models which have the same connector/dock?
If your going to purchase it in the near future one ought to get it now for $49.95 Limited time, then to regular MSRP of $59.95
