well the hold wasn’t working on my 30gig so i got it swapped out for a new one, but the screen is alot lighter almost white and i need the contrast to be set at half before i could really see anything as to where my previous one would have been completly dark if i moved it to the middle, and the LCD display does look alot lighter like the old one was blueish and this one is just plain white. and the software version is 2.0.2 which i also thought was strange.

There is a great review of the 15G model in the July issue of Macaddict. There is a side by side thickness picture of the 3g30/3g15/1g10/2g20. The 3g15 is by far the slimmest. Next is the 3g30 which is noticebly thicker (but still sleek), then the two older models look larger and blockier than the newer models including the 3g30. So, though the 3g30 is thicker than the 3g15, its still smaller than older models.
It certainly is a trade-off and a tough decision I had to make too, but I ended up with the 30, if they ship it soon that is. If it starts to drag out I might be forced to buy from a brick and morter just to get it soon!

Ordered one too :D I’m very excited. But I read in the forums that 20/15GB models are “noticibly” thinner than 30/40GB model. Although 1oz, 0.1” difference doesn’t sounds like much to me.
Any comments? Thanks!

In response to Steve, no, the 30g and the 40g have no difference whatsoever when it comes to features. The only difference is that th 40g is 10g larger, but other than that, everything should be the same, including sound quality, and AAC/MPEG4 support.

MC 9 is so far ahead of every other media manager, yes including ichoonz, that it’s easily worth $40. ichoonz is fine for beginners, or for small or simple collections, but MC is in a league of its own. I’ve got both of them and, even with a free ichoonz, I chose to pay money for MC to manage my media (100K files, 400GB and rising).

I jumped on this Friday (9/12) before I knew about the $30 coupon code (oops).
Anyhow, the Dell site says mine shipped today (9/15), so I should have it by the end of the week!

Whenever I order something from dell.com, they give me an absurd target ship date of like 1-2 months from the date of when I purchased the item.. it always ends up shipping within your normal 5-7 business days, however.

Uhg! Didn’t want to hear about a shipping delay! Just canceled refurb order @ Apple and bought a new one from Dell instead. It is 9/15 and they gave me a 9/18 ship date. Hope they stick to that.

NEWSWEEK: Apple moves up iTunes for PC to mid-October
How does this square up with Apple being sued by Apple Corps exactly for doing this ?

Smart debuts i-move car with iPod connectivity
Now, if this type of connection solution was availiable as a kit for all cars I would buy one in a heartbeat!
It looks good, fits the iPod like a glove and makes use of the Line out through the dock connector to give the best sound.
Let’s also assume that it is connected to the cars power for charging and you have a perfect solution for the iPod in the car.
Why hasn’t apple released a dock orientated car kit?? Hurry up and make one!
