BBC News: File swappers 'buy more music'

Totally agree with ‘Me’

Also if you like one song froma band I don’t see why you don’t just downlaod all there songs and burn to cD its what I do all the time and pbox, where do you downlaod your music from? because when I downlaod music its normally perfect quality if it isnt and thats a 3% chance then I re download and its perfect practically all my songs have no whatsoever buzz’s hisses skips or anything in them
and they are all downloaded

SendStation announces PocketDock FireWire-to-iPod adapter

The dock connector cable which comes with the iPod usually stays at home, happily connected to your Mac. This thing however appears to be small enough that you can always carry it in your purse.

Also, unplugging and re-plugging the specific iPod cable can become quite annoying, depending on the Mac you own. I for instance own a Dual CPU Cube, which has its connectors at the bottom. Reaching those is a nightmare, as you basically have to lift the entire machine.

Well if you have the older ipod car charger with the 6 pin than you can utilize this with the 3rd gen Ipod.

BBC News: File swappers 'buy more music'

I definitely buy a lot more. I have found numerous bands I would have not found without soulseek. If they turn out to be good, I go and buy their album(s). Now I own all the Thievery Corporation CDs, just beause I like the music and I wanted to have it in the best quality possible.

Not one of these surveys mention the reason I find most compelling for the “p2p sells more music” argument. Downloaded music is horrible, untrustable quality. Even if you only download 256kbps stereo mp3s or 320kbps VBR you are still not guaranteed that:

a. some kid did not feel like playing his uitar in the middle.
b. got resampled from a 96kbps mono mp3
c. got ripped with exact copy (as opposed to jitter or jitter control)
d. got ripped through the analog stage
e. did not get “volume adjusted”
f. has correct id3 tagging

These are all big headaches, and the music I love I like to keep in better shape…

SendStation announces PocketDock FireWire-to-iPod adapter

It’s pretty cool, but why would anyone get that and then have to carry BOTH it and a firewire cable when one can cary JUST the dock connector cable?

BBC News: File swappers 'buy more music'

Actually I download music and I buy as well.  If the group has some really nice stuff I will surely buy the album. The problem is if you are somewhere in the world --like the Middle East—where you cant find artists that you would normally find in a big city music store like in the States you are more likely to download it because its available.

iPods: Built Mac Tough

i think the radio microphone case here:

http://www.aquapac.net/

would totally make a waterproof ipod for under 50 bucks.  i have one of their mini cell phone cases, and i haven’t worried about my phone at the beach ever since… wink

personally, my month-old 15G has survived a tumble down 18 wooden stairs (alone), and a rather spectacular crash on skates (in my pocket).

it’s entirely possible that i’m too klutzy to deserve such a nice piece of hardware.... wink

Apple 30GB iPod with speakers for $469

We report deals and product announcements for the sole purpose of informing our readers.

iPodlounge has no ‘deals’ with Dealmac, Deals on the Web or any other company which announces product deals. We make no money from these announcements. We keep a clear distinction between editorial and advertising. iPod News is only news and nothing more.

The only ads we make money from are the traditional advertising you see at the top, right side and the loungeStore ads.

Mac: AppleScripts for iPod and more released

why does my ipod drop out during songs that are not converted to Mp3?
I am playing an Aiff file, and about a minute into the song it drops out for a few seconds then continues the track,,,
this is really annoying in that i am a producer testing mixes from my studio,,
what is going on?
