MacMinute: WSJ: Apple to introduce cheaper iPod
hmmm regardless if the rumor turns out to be true or not - i just can’t believe that so called reputable publications are publishing speculation as fact. It kinda sickens me and makes me wonder who their sources are and what they consider to be a ‘good source’.
Like I said in another comment - the only people who know what will happen at the keynote is steve jobs and the staff that have worked on any new projects. Resellers, the majority of apple staff, and everyone else find out about apple stuff when the public does - so anyone claiming to have ‘inside information’ probably doesn’t….because i know for a fact that if anyone in key staff positions wouldn’t let anything slip, and if they did, they would pay for it.

Mini iPods to use new Cornice 2GB hard drive?
I mentioned Sony in my earlier post, seems they saw it coming: http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20006&highlight=HiMD
I love MD, I want one of those; cheap highcapacity disks, userreplacable batteries…I am curious if Jobs can top that!

Macworld: Griffin iTalk Voice Recorder coming in April
Hmm… I wonder if they’ll come up with an extender of some kind so you can use it with your ipod in a case.
Either way, I think I may just have to get one of those… I haven’t used this belkin one for anything but recording meetings, but if I can hook up a good mic and record at a good bitrate, I can use it for a good number of other things.

Macworld: Belkin Announces TuneCast II FM Transmitter
The quick writeup on this page missed the best part: “The TuneCast II scans all FM frequencies 88.1-107.9MHz (as opposed to just four frequencies that other transmitters offer) and selects the best frequency for your music experience.”
Sounds like this will be simply awesome. Wish they said when it’ll be released.

MacMinute: WSJ: Apple to introduce cheaper iPod
I think the paper might be buying into a bit of the rumour hype
That’s amusing as hell.
I’ve been contending that the rumored $99 iPod will actually be priced closer to $159 since the rumor broke. We’ll see shortly.

Since it comes from Griffin, it may be available April 2004, but it won’t ship until April 2007.

Mini iPods to use new Cornice 2GB hard drive?
I know I wouldn’t buy one, but I would like it if they were released, because then I wouldn’t own the bottom of the range one (my 10 gig would become the mid range or sumthing

Macworld: XtremeMac Demonstrates iPod with Bluetooth streaming audio
THat sounds pretty cool, but the reality is you have to have a class 1 bluetooth equipped set of speakers, in car audio system or whatever to take full advantage of it, which is great if you do or intend or having soon, but not if you dont or dont really need it. It could be a good in car solution (better than iTrip etc.) if you have a good in car system tho

Macworld: Griffin iTalk Voice Recorder coming in April
Yeah, it looks a whole lot more capable than the little Belkin thing which is apparently pretty useless. The ability to plug a really good mic into it opens up possibilities for easy amateur music recording for the up and coming band, and bootleg live concerts
:D Looks cool

Macworld: Belkin Announces TuneCast II FM Transmitter
You’re all saying that it will hopefully be better than the iTrip, but there has been an alternative in the Belkin Tunecast (this new one is version 2) and I think the only difference is the original was powered only by the iPod but this one can plug into ciggarette lighter or wall socket which will hopefully produce a better signal. I’m awaiting a review.

Macworld: Griffin iTalk Voice Recorder coming in April
Uh Gabe, this is made by Griffin Technology, not Apple. And anyway, look at it! It can record from 100 feet away AND includes audio input for an external microphone. If you don’t find it useful, don’t buy it. But I am sure a whole lot of people will.

Podboard iPod Stand Announced
The problem is that it has no hookup; no signal out jack, power charging, or navigation buttons. The buttons are not a problem I guess but it is not as usefull as the dock.

This looks so much better than Belkin’s unit. I hope they come out with a competitor to Belkin’s card reader as well!
p.s. dishwasherrat: No, you can’t. Only dock iPods.
