Lajo announces $10 coupon

I second the hatred for the ####.biz site. Why not just use simple frames. You can decorate that however you please, but for the simplicity, use frames. It makes things a lot easier.

On a different note, has anyone gotten the key thingy to work? I noticed much of the updated site isn’t working, or up yet, so that may explain it.

Also, is this a $10 universal key, where you can buy whatever you please? I don’t use the clip, so I’m not interested in that, yet, it am egar to try out of one the zip cases that are designed just for the ipod (not the one that comes free).

Podboard iPod Stand Announced

actually, I jack my iPod to my component system when I have guests over and let the shuffle play.  This would look great if you have a nice entertainment system and would like the iPod to look like it’s actually part of it.  As it is, having it in the dock just isn’t pretty.  Wires visible, white iPod on black and silver, etc., etc.  I think I may be getting one of these.  And whoever said that the dock is unecessary is right.  I never use it unless I have the iPod connected to my system.  And it’s expensive, moreso then this thing.

Apple retailer says mini iPod is true?

I know alot of pod owners hate the comparison but we can find an idea of a possible pricing model from creativelabs.  for example they have a 1 gig flash memory player for $500, next they have a 1.5 gig cornice HD player for $229 and now a 4 gig HD player for $299 using the microdrive.  I chose creative as my example because they are the number 1 budget mp3 player production company and if these are their prices the I expect any new minipods would be HD based and carry a price of atleast $149.

Robert X. Cringely predicts cheaper iPods and video iPod for 2004

haha I would have to agree with the other ‘me’ and adam.

I posted a long entry on my site about what I think Apple will do - but again it’s all speculation. We have all got it totally wrong a million times before. I personally think the majority of the predictions are silly. If Apple were going to do anything to the iPod, I think they would add a radio tuner - but even that is a long shot.

Flash media - NO WAY! I really can’t see them implementing this. If they do, then I’ll run across the sydney harbour bridge naked!

CNET: Music downloads decline after RIAA lawsuits

Podboard iPod Stand Announced

This reminds me of the cheesy silver toned “forged” dock protector that some company was hawking a few months back. Blech.

Is this for the podder who has everything, but taste?

Podboard iPod Stand Announced

Don’t forget line out. The dock isn’t worth $50, but it sure is great. Just plug it in.

Podboard iPod Stand Announced

Well, the dock is unnecssary as well, if think about it.

For those of us with the 10G model, the dock costs about $50 US, while this costs only about $35 or so, and they serve the same purpose: to hold the iPod in the upright position.

DJs look to iPod as the next turntable?

Until an iPod can pitch bend/adjust BPM it will not be usable in a proper club.

DJs look to iPod as the next turntable?

Actually, the skipping caused by the DJ “waving [an iPod] in the air as it plays” might one day sound a lot like vinyl scratching.

The only problem that arrises from that is the low battery life (8 hours won’t be enough for some clubs), and the physical damage caused to the tiny hard drives.

DJs look to iPod as the next turntable?

Call me old-fashioned but for me being a DJ is having two decks and a box of VINYL at your side. I can just about accept CD but it’s not djing if all you are using iTunes or an iPod.  I am an iPod owner but to use it to Dj, nah forget about it.

RipDigital announces CD ripping service

I’m sure this is a service that someone out there will want to use, but it seems to me that most people that use mp3 players today [the start of their rise to overtake say, the discman] are:
a. computer literate people
b. computer illiterate people who’s mp3 player was bought for them as a present.

now, correct me if i’m wrong ,but im pretty sure that most computer literate people would be able to rip cds, and the b’s know the a that bought it for them, and can either be taught by them or have it done by them. Sure, time is an issue, but ripping cds can be done whilst doing other things. i used CDex to rip over 80 cds in 6 days, most of which i wasn’t sitting in front of my computer watching it. I chucked them in the cd-rom, let cddb load, and then let it rip while i went and did other stuff. i came back a few minutes later and did the same thing for the next cd. it does take a long time, but it potentially saved me money.

Unecessary like an iPod?  I joke, I joke raspberry.

DJs look to iPod as the next turntable?

I’ve seen DJ’s that run a whole set off of iTunes, so I wouldn’t see it totally out of spec to do it on an iPod.

And when it crashed mid show, we all patiently waited for him to reboot, and reload his powerbook.

Lajo announces $10 coupon

What keeps me coming back to ####
1. variety
2. colors
3. quality
4. I do not pay for items not in stock
5. service
6. price
7. specials
8. and now the key
I can see images of all his exo colors and buy his cases without all the accessories I already have.  In my opinion his site is greatly improved. Let’s face it we would all rather be buying our cases designed by an artist and not by a computer programmer.

Griffin iFM Radio for iPod canceled

I don’t get why you guys are bashing the iHP for. Just because it’s specs are better than the ipods is no reason to bash it. I love my ipod too, for the simplicity though. I would also love to have the iHP though.

Optical input and output
Up to 16 hours of battery life (double 3G ipod!)
Built-in voice recorder
Integrated FM tuner
Ultra-fast USB 2.0 transfers
Supports MP3, WMA, ASF, WAV and OGG music files (plus more with future firmware)

Plus an LCD remote to boot.

I imagine the ipod has it beat when it comes to interface and navigation, but those features sure are tempting.
