DLO Action Jacket now shipping
This is a pretty good case. I have a marware convertable for my ipod 20 and I like this case better for the protection and style. This case definitely looks better the way they designed it than the new marware cases! The only thing they missed here was a plug for the bottom like marware has.

New MARWARE SportSuit Convertible available for pre-order
I think that it has a good look. Some of the other cases out there are far uglier or more expensive and some are ugly and expensive.

Zip your iPod, new case announced
I don’t know about this. It reminds me of those plastic covers on sofas. It’s like so 70s.

Yes, there is an access hole for ear/headphones. To access the FireWire dock port, you need to unzip the case. The zipper has a protective lining so it will not scratch the iPod.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars
David,
I tinkered around a lot with the built-in “gain” of the adapter until I found a sweet spot with no distortion.
Is it possible Belkin made some defective units?
Sorry about the previous post but people keep comparing the Belkin with other units and they have different purposes.
Cheers.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars
Alric, in all due respect, the problem is that the Belkin does not have a clean line in—it has a crappy little amplifier that distorts sound. For those that go through the trouble to hardwire into the CD changer control (as you and I have done), why sacrifice the sound quality (and you really do, I mean, noticeably!) with the Belkin??
You need an extra base to get a clean line out.

PDASmart iPod battery replacement review
For those with older 5 gig iPods….try downgrading your firmware to 1.1 before buying a new battery…otherwise your iPod may kill the new battery too…..downgrading the firmware on my 5 gig significantly increased runtime and standby time…

Doesn’t anybody get the point of AUDIO out on the same cable as power.

Zip your iPod, new case announced
The perfect case would be an iSkin which didn’t pick up dust and hair, didn’t rub off any gunk or whatever, and a mega thin layer or clear silicon to cover the screen, buttons and touchwheel.

PowerDesign releases BodyMasks for new iPods
This is my favorite design from their site—a DJ turntable:

Any idea how well the touchpad buttons in the new iPods work when covered like this, though? Also, if the design covers the four top buttons, wouldn’t that pose a problem for the red backlight?

Zip your iPod, new case announced
Not sure I’m keen. I think the idea of the zip is to make it more accessible for headphones/hold switch/docking but don’t think (admittedly just from second guessing from the pics) that holes for these functions are present. In fact docking seems unlikely with the case on because the flush fit with the docking station won’t allow the zip/casing to fit. Also, the presence of a zip may actually cause scratching (the zip teeth look plastic/plasticised so maybe ok, but the zip itself is metal). More pics/info from the company would be handy since all my thoughts are based on the few pics provided, so I could easily be talking utter rubbish ... just my tuppence worth.

Man, the new layout does present some problems in case design. This is one ugly case IMO.

And what about using the dock with this case on the iPod? Do you have to take it out to dock it?

Looks pretty good… but does it have holes for the headphones and hold switch? I imagine it’s got to, but it’d be nice to see.

Nightfly, you are correct. Line out is much cleaner than an amplified headphone out and as such preferable for car hi fi with a line in jack.

I bought the monster power adapter for my 2nd gen IPOD then when I bought the 3rd gen I purchased a 6pin to 6pin female firewire adapter and used the data cable from the new IPod with the adapter to power the ipod off the old car charger.
