Open Letter to Apple Concerning the Mistreatment of Apple Customers

Damnit, Mitsu, did you not read my post? I specifically said that I don’t feel entitled to it. Look above. I SAID I’D PAY FOR IT. I don’t want to because I don’t think I should have to having paid $500 in february, but if that’s what it takes I’d pay for it. HAD THEY OFFERED AN UPDATE SERVICE WHEN I BOUGHT MY IPOD I’D HAVE PURCHASED IT. I’m tired of having to repeat things for you people. If you’re going to post at least read what we’ve all said before sounding ignorant. Secondly, I didn’t pay for a firmware feature set as I said above. I like every other iPod owner, bought hardware. Lemme quote myself for you since you obviously didn’t read what I said.

“iPods are hardware and nowhere does apple claim the features of the firmware as the features of the iPod. Have you ever noticed that? They talk about how many songs are on it and how easy it is to use and how long the battery lasts. All hardware issues.”

Also refer to the following:

“I said first of all for the millonth time, I never said I wanted a free update…I said I was willing to pay.”

Please don’t disgrace one of my favorite Soul Caliber character’s name by not reading what I’ve written then replying with the same thing everyone else has said, which I’ve already refuted at least 25 times.

iPod 10GB 2G at BestBuy $199

wow everybody seems to be bashing on the touchpad…

Why? Everyone I know that uses an Ipod loves the touchpad. It doesn’t “feel” that bad to me. It feels about the same as if you were touching the front plastic part.

Speck Products Announces Several New iPod Cases

I seem to recall reading about skins that came with a plastic screen cover. Maybe this does too. Anyway, I want to be buying hard case. Do you think I should get this clear one, or wait around to see if the iSee is better? (Obvious I want a clear case)

Open Letter to Apple Concerning the Mistreatment of Apple Customers

This whole argument is pointless.  People with Gen1 and Gen2 ipods paid for a feature set and got what they paid for.  IF apple are kind enough to provide us with FREE updates for our Gen1 and Gen2 ipods, then thank you apple.
APPLE DID NOT PROMISE TO UPDATE YOUR IPOD - why are you whining that they aren’t.

I have a 10G Gen2 ipod for windows.  Purchased in Jan03 for 329 uk pounds (about $550) and i am very very happy with it.  It does MORE than what I paid for.

I hope v2.0 software is released for my Gen2 ipod - I dont think I am entitled to it like some ppl.

iPod clone spotted, will Apple pursue?

Actually, you guys are wrong.
Apple did invent the mp3 player. Also only Apple should use the color white because it is the “Apple Style”. It is no one elses style to use white, so they shouldnt.

P.S. I WANT SOFTWARE 2.0 FOR MY OLD POD!

iPod clone spotted, will Apple pursue?

IMHO it does not look similar to the iPod. Apple will probably not go after them, even if they were in fact copying the iPod.

I Lost My iPod

I hear this.

We gave my son a 30Gig for college graduation and it fell out of his coat pocket at an AMC theatre in West Covina, CA. It was the last showing of the night so a cleaning person undoubtedly picked it up since he called that same night to the theatre and was told “no one has seen it”.  Like other’s suggest, the worker probably had no idea how to make the thing work but it looked cool.

It has a registered serial # but that won’t help deter a thief.  Of course, it is also missing the cradle, etc. so it doesn’t have as much value as out of the box but boy, do I wish there was a way for the thing to “phone home”.

I’m not sure who posts the news and how it’s decided it’s newsworthy but this is pathetic.  That picture looks nothing like an ipod.  Apple didn’t invent the use of cascading menus and white as a case color for an electronic device.

Open Letter to Apple Concerning the Mistreatment of Apple Customers

I’m probably going to sell my 2G 10GB and get a 3G 15GB since Apple has the buy a laptop and an iPod and get $200 off deal for students.

I would expect Apple to update the older iPods’ software.  I mean, this isn’t a $30 CD player, it’s a $300-500 investment, and alot of money to most people.  While it’s grand that some people give such ardent support for Apple, I think it goes beyond comprehension.

I mean, what if it would’ve taken them a week to add in support for my G4/400 to Jaguar, but for some reason they didn’t do it?  Too bad, ts…buy a new Mac even though we could’ve made it work?  (Jaguar runs perfectly for me, btw, it was just the simplest example I could think of. :)  )

I’d love to have on the go playlists and song rating.  Hell, even Microsoft is supposedly about to give me the PocketPC 2003 update for free for my Toshiba e310.  What once was old is now new again.  This update would cost Apple practically nothing, they’re just suckering people into buying more iPods.  It’s called the “Sony strategy.” :p

Cougar, also the “status” given to you by your iPod can still be enjoyed if I have 2.0 on my classic. That doesn’t effect you one bit. I’m not sure who you said has resorted to name calling, but I haven’t to this point as it’s not pertinent to make a good argument and totally irrelevant to the matter at hand. I’m not sitting here whining about wanting something for free and I want people to understand that. Sure, I’d like it for free because I’ve already paid $500 four months ago, but I’d be willing to pay a small fee for an upgrade. And I was thinking about Apple giving us firmware 2.0 after the first gen 3 update but since us windows users still haven’t gotten 1.3 yet, I’m not quite so sure that’ll happen anymore. BTW, most of the truly rich people who buy cars like BMW, and Mercedes, and all of those things are usually modest people who don’t really care to be flashy. One of my friends was extremely rich, his dad bought him a mercedes when he was 15, and since then he’s a had a Jag or two and probably a Porsche, and through all that time I knew him, he’d never admit to having A LOT of money. Hell, he even worked at a KMart because I guess he just wanted to feel more normal, or not like he was mooching off his father. Anyways, you’ve paid a lot of money just as I did, if your iPod were replaced in 3 months would you be happy about it? And for anyone who says my iPod is not obsolete read the large caps below:

OBSOLETE DOESN’T MEAN THAT IT NO LONGER WORKS. THAT’S CALLED BROKEN. OBSOLETE MEANS THAT IT HAS BEEN EITHER REPLACED BY SOMETHING NEW, BETTER, OR HAS ALTOGETHER BEEN DISCONTINUED. MY IPOD WAS BOTH REPLACED BY SOMETHING NEW AND DISCONTINUED. IT IS OBSOLETE.

Cougar maybe you should read closer to my posts. I said first of all for the millonth time, I never said I wanted a free update…I said I was willing to pay. Secondly, I also said I didn’t know which iPod you said, therefore I didn’t misread you post, I just didn’t bother to go and find it because I still have a better point than you do and your size iPod doesn’t detract from my point. iPods are hardware and nowhere does apple claim the features of the firmware as the features of the iPod. Have you ever noticed that? They talk about how many songs are on it and how easy it is to use and how long the battery lasts. All hardware issues. For the record, by saving $1400 a year for a few years you will have a sizeable downpayment fitting enough to make a BMW affordable. Furthermore, my friend with the BMW, and the people who truly like BMW, don’t just buy them for the “status,” they buy them for the performance.

iPod 10GB 2G at BestBuy $199

Houston Best Buy’s have them. Just call one up and ask them to do a store search, they will be able to point you to a store that has them in stock. I purchased 2 in the last 3 weeks. These stores I know do NOT have any:
willowbrook
59 south @ gessner

This might have one left:
greenspoint BB (45 north @ west rd)

I noticed on the store employee’s screen that one store in Houston had 5 of them left.

Once I launch g3 I will redesign g2 and g1. The first iSkin design launched by www.iskin4ipod.com was removed from the market 3 months ago. The existing stock of 3000 is being prepared for a 50% sell off this month sometime.

wow.
it looks NOTHING like it. Whoever posted the article didnt do it with care. It is entirely different. Any new mp3 player that uses has same colour LCD scr. is considered a clone?

Get over it, the iPOD is not the only mp3 player avaiblable.

Speck Products Announces Several New iPod Cases

Looking at the pictures, the cut-outs for the four buttons are rather small. In addition, the thickness of the plastic makes the buttoms very “deep” so if you have large or “meaty” fingers, it may be very hard to press the buttons.
