Illegal Downloading Hurting Music Sales

“Another thing, who buys 29 cd’s a year?”

I know I’ve purchased over 50 in the past year from Amazon alone : )

Illegal Downloading Hurting Music Sales

Make better music and the sales will rise. The music in the last 4 or 5 years has been nothing but garbage ( for lack of better words ). Another thing, who buys 29 cd’s a year? my god, that’s almost 2 albums per month. Im not that eratic with my purchases.

Another thing, if they have so little money how come mariah carey got 80 million +24 million after her break down. Its a bunch of crock.

VW Audio Interface Adapter

Use a cassette adapter if you can. It’s super cheap and it works great for me. In fact I used a 4 year old adapter from my now deceased Aiwa Portable CD Player car set and it works perfectly. If you have a cassette deck for your car please don’t waste your money! That’s silly!

Power thing is a good point though…

Illegal Downloading Hurting Music Sales

“Curiuosly RIAA left out the older demogrpahics. There has been studies that show that in case of people with disposable income, music downloads actually INCREASE compact disc purchase.”

So true, so true! Sick and tired of radio music (I now only use the radio for news), I have been spending my time exploring genres and artists that I had only a brushing familiarity with. Eg: when I wanted to know what “A Love Supreme” sounded like, I Acquisitioned a piece of it, then bought the CD. I don’t want no lousy MP3s somebody else encoded. I want my own CD.

I do believe that the music industry has brought this on itself. Having worked in commercial radio for twenty years (I am no longer!), it’s so easy to see in hindsight. Once The suits saw the sales of “Thriller”, nothing has been the same.

Dell delays iPod shipping

Yes, I too ordered my 30gb on 5/15 for the great price.  Dell’s site still shows my ship date as 6/3, but when I call it is still backordered.  I supposed to call back on Monday after they “reserch” why there is no date to ship, but they still show as backordered.  I asked if they were taking additional orders, and they said no, but they ARE filling the backorders.  I have an old 20gb, PLEASE tell me that this is worth the wait!

iPod Software 2.0.1 Update Released

ok guys one thing i learned the hard way
DO NOT RUN THE UPDATE WHEN THE IPOD IS PLUGGED IN.
for some reason when you restart the computer and your pod is plugged in, it causes the pod to freeze or something….
what i did when that happend i
re-installed the update (the ipod unplugged)
restarted
plugged the ipod in
ran the updater
hit update….it took a while but it updated it (remember its a 29mb file)
enjoyed my “new” toy

"iPod 2.0.1 Software: A Closer Look at What's Fixed"

When downloading the iPod update, you are given the choice to “update” or “restore.”  I opted for update, which appears to have loaded successfully.  However, it appears the window for the download will not close unless I also choose “restore.”  I am reluctant to “restore,” because it erases all current content.  Are we required to “restore” in order for the download to be complete?  And if we restore, will the current content be reloaded from iTunes after putting the iPod back in its dock?  ( I have the 30 GB version, which comes with a dock.)  Any help here would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Alan, hardly any case will fit in the dock the fit is so tight, the Speck skin does because the bottom lifts up. I am wondering how easy it is to get the iPod out of the case and if the screen protector bubbles. Tom.

It also seems that the recording feature is also gone. This is a pity, considering that many of us had expected Apple to move ahead with this feature, possibly including a record to MP3 feature, not backwards.

Austin’s right.  From my understanding, the $15 certificate is for ‘future’ purchases, and not the current case.

iPod Software 2.0.1 Update Released

The online petition asking Apple to update the firmware for first and secong generation iPods has already been signed by over 3500 iPod owners.  Owners of first and second generation iPods who haven’t already done so should sign the petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/ipoduser/petition.html  Owners of third generation iPods and anyone contemplating purchasing a third generation iPod should consider the possibility that Apple will stop supporting and updating third generation iPods in the same way in the future.

iPod Software 2.0.1 Update Released

Can anyone who has yet to upgrade confirm the following is true also for 2.0. I noticed that when you select a track you can hear/feel the disk access the data it then goes quiet. However there still seems to be a constant whirr unless you switch on hold. I’d like to know if this is new or not. If it is I would expect the battery life to be shorter with 2.0.1 than 2.0.0.

Dell no longer selling 10GB iPods

I ordered 2 ipods from Dell on May 19th, one 15 and one 30. The 30 arrived a few days ago, and the 15 just shipped yesterday (June 20th). So I was lucky (and smart) to have caught that discount when I did. DMYK-> I’ll bet your 30 will ship any day now.

kick ass case, hmm   thinking about it..

I’ve had the cheap 20.00 35.00 and other cases all thrown out, in total, I could have bought THE case to start with and still use it.
