Vaja announces new Classic cases for dock iPods

BEWARE OF THESE CASES!  I have the classic case for my 2nd gen iPod and they have 2 MAJOR flaws:

1.  no reverse stitching on the case means it will scratch your iPod every time you try to put it in.

2.  cutout for the headphone jack is too small which means you can’t use any headphone you want.

BusinessWeek: How Apple Spells Future: i-P-O-D

sounds a little anti-apple to me. What do you mean no future with powermacs or any apple computer.  Apple will not just stay alive with a damn MP3 player!!!

Vaja announces new Classic cases for dock iPods

I was all ready to buy the new Classic case until I came upon the last page of the web checkout and they want 18 flippin’ dollars for shipping!!!!!!!

That’s over half the cost of the $35 case, which I find OUTRAGEOUS.

Otherwise, definintely would have bought it.

"iTunes and the Technology Beyond MP3"

I did blinded testing and 160 kbps AACs sounded as good as -alt present standard EAC/LAME MP3s, which are 200-250 kbps.

I switched to AAC just for the space savings.

The testing was done with headphones and car audio.  At home I use either the original WAV or AIFF or Monkey’s audio (lossless compression).

Cheers,

Dell: $40 off $400 TODAY Only

Well, Dell might not have stopped selling them, but if you can’t order them online it’s the next best thing to not selling them.

If ANYTHING looks like a cheese grater, it’s this. I thought the G5 descriptions were over-the-top, but applied to this stand they are well-deserved.

This whole aluminum thing is just plain ugly to me. Reminds me of a restaurant kitchen.

That is one of the sweetest docks I have seen. Although I agree with the comment about the size. I really need a dock for my 5GB ‘Pod so this might be the one.

Vaja announces new Classic cases for dock iPods

As manufacture and designer of iSkin and Maclear, I truely appreciate the design and quality of your cases.  I believe anyone that owns a Vaja case will agree with me. I hope one day to meet you. I will be also be entering some designed leather case into the iPod arena and I look forward to your comments on them. They will be selling from $60 to $200 + and in limited edition (goes back to my days of being an Artist in Canada). Do your cases sell in Hong Kong? Please look at my designs at www.iskinusa.com and give me your comments on them. I am also looking for distributors in South America, I believe that is your home base. Let me know, you can write to me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Vaja announces new Classic cases for dock iPods

Do you think that it would be easy to open the case while the remote / headphones are plugged into the iPod, the hole isn’t that big is it? Owners of the original classic Vaja iPod case, how easy is it to open with the headphones plugged in? Tom.

A little disappointing that the case doesn’t cover the bottom corners of the iPod, though.

"The iPod Nation and the iPod Nod of Approval"

I live in NYC and see at least 3 or 4 different people a day with ipods. Whether it be on the bus, subway or in my office nuilding (AOLTimeWarner) i always notice, first the white headphones then the ipod tucked away. Being an apple fan and ipod user myself, seeing another fan always brings joy to my day.

"iTunes and the Technology Beyond MP3"

For 50 year old ears, I personally could not hear a difference between MP3 and ACC when I experimented with encoding the same tune at all the possible encoding rates using iTunes.

So for me, I’ll stick with MP3 since they are more widely compatible with what my friends use.

I would suggest that instead of reading articles written by “experts,” you try various encodings yourself and see what you think.

I assume 12 year olds can hear a difference that those of us who are older have lost the ability to hear.
