JR Hill Introduces The Wrap for new iPods

I got the wrap last week and have been using it these few days.  Its thick vinel, much thicker than the plastic the ipod ships in.  It seems very protective to me. Its soft and sticks to the ipod very well. It does seem to make the buttons a little less sensitive.  I don’t know if its worth $10 though.  If you can find the material somewhere else you can probably make one yourself.  The design is very simple.  I wish it had cutouts for the carger, and it wraped the top of the ipod also.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars

My Belkin charger works like a charm. Without the amp, the sound from the headphone jack is pretty low and lacks bass. With the charger hooked up, I get much better bass and treble through my tape adapter. I’ve got a ‘02 Golf.
By the way, what’s the diff between “audio out” and “line out”??? Isn’t it the same thing?

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars

Won’t the iPod work with the Belkin charger plugged in for power and a mic to rca cable coming out from the headphone jack for the sound?

KBase Documents updated for iPod

Love the “solution” for “Delay While Misicmatch Connects,”  which is, slightly distilled:  “Wait.”

JR Hill Introduces The Wrap for new iPods

I don’t think this is worth it at all. It seems to be the same material that the iPod comes wrap in when you open a new one. Maybe I’m wrong, but something like this doesn’t seem to be that protective. The new iPods are so slim I could deal with something a little more thick and not paper thin.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars

I just went back to the Belkin page, and see that the jack is described as “3.5mm audio-out jack”, but does not say “line out” anywhere.  Makes you wonder why they even bothered; a line-out connection would have been WAY cooler.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars

Actually the original article says “one of the only,” not “the only.”  So technically the article is not inaccurate.  The Griffin charger is the only other one that I have seen that works with the new one (and the only one, I believe, that works with both.)

Depending on the plastic, lighter fluid could get a whole dissolving theme going on your iPod case. Unless you like the melted look thats probably not a good thing. Although usually that sort of damage appears pretty rapidly so i guess if they say you can do it, then it’s ok in the long term, as long as your not dousing the poor thing in lighter fluid every day. Warm soapy water and a spunge tend to do the job as well i’ve found. Not too much water of course. To be honest i rather like the look of these things, funkay patterns n what.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars

The statement in the main article is wrong. The car charger from Griffin Technology works for both the old and the new iPods. If you want to connect an FM Modulator, just use the Headphone Jack.

PDASmart iPod battery replacement review

Is the intent then that the PDASmart battery has a longer battery life than the standard iPod battery, or is it a 1:1 replacement for a battery that’s just not holding a charge as well as it did when first purchased??

Works fine in my Golf.  After adjusting the volume on the adaptor it sounds very good.  As good or better than the headphone jack.

Look in this page for a description of what I did.

Belkin Auto Kit for new iPod may not fit some cars

I bought the Belkin Car adaptor last night. What a piece of absolute crap—why the heck did these guys choose to put a terrible little amplifier and volume control in the thing? Basically it pops, hisses, and totally distorts sound quality.

After having gone through all the trouble to wire my car (a 2000 Jetta) with a direct input to the stereo system, I now have to get an extra base to get a clean audio out! I’m no audiophile, but there is a marked sound quality difference between running from the Ipod base vs. the Belkin…

Terribly disappointing.

Fox News: Will the Beatles Take

Oh please, don’t try to negate my argument by saying Apple goes after people for trademark infringement as well.  That wasn’t my point, and it would do you some good to go back to a critical thinking class and learn what a valid argument is to my post.

I stated that record companies overall, not just Apple, are greedy as hell.  Believe me, I’ve worked with some majors before, and they’re all crooks.  So far, it looks like Def Jam, TVT, and a number of others are gearing up to sue Apple due to the fact that people are now hacking iTunes.  Never mind the fact that Apple actually had millions of downloads from the site, so they’re making SOME money.  The problem with the music industry is they want ALL the money.

And I still think 99 cents a song is a pretty high cost.

Yes, removing the sticker may leave some adhesive residue on the iPod. PowerDesign recommends the following when removng the BodyMask:

question:  Is the adhesive closer to that you find on avery mailing labels or low tack like with PDA screen protectors.  If removed, is there a sticky residue left behind?

Enhance your MP3s with DFX

Ill probably just go with the 10gb seeing as I need money and all. I also saw a case for 20 bucks so that’s not a problem. Space really isnt an issue with me. If I have to Ill delete something, I had to do that all the time with my cd case. things going in and out. Believe me theres a few cd’s that I really never needed.
