"Pop" between tracks exists on all iPods?
My old Rio500 makes a small “squeek” noise between tracks.
I’ve never had any probs with my 10gb iPod in that regard…

iTrip Hacked
We feel so exposed…
If you really want an iTrip for the new iPod just give us a few more weeks and we’ll ‘hook you up’. Till then, don’t even think about returning our beautiful iTrip all ripped up and mangled because you tried to do it yourself first

"Pop" between tracks exists on all iPods?
I have a 30gb iPOD and it also has clicks between tracks - this was the reason i visited this forum to see if anyone else had the same problem - Seems like it is a common thing in te new 30gb machines -THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED SOON. Apple - get that firmware upgrade out right away….

iPod 20GB for PC for $279
just bought a 10GB gen 2 iPod for Windows off amazon for 249.99. Not sure if they still have them in stock since the expected shipping is a week from now while the availability says it should ship within in a day. Who knows if i’ll get it.

"iPod Envy: Dealing With The idea That You Can't Have It All"
I like the 2nd generation ipod way better than the 3rd generation. I want the version 2 firmaware and less weight but those are my only complaints. The old ipods look cooler have a better button arangement and cost $200 at best buy. Once again the new ipods are very ugly (who wants that)?

Audible: Free month trial and more for new iPod owners
No proper Windows iPod support for second- and first-gen models yet, though. “Early May.” We shall see.

"Pop" between tracks exists on all iPods?
I recently bought a 2nd-hand 5GB scrollwheel iPod and noticed last night that it absolutely *does* “pop” between tracks. I was listening to classical music very softly and had not noticed this previously. It is definitely not intrusive. After careful review, I find that the “popping” sound varies each time, sounds a lot like a burst of static or electomagnetic “popping”, and is present between ripped CDs, mp3s, and AAC files.
I also have an older iRock mp3 player that does not “pop” between tracks, so I know what I’m hearing. Not a big deal, in any case.

Hope for iPod Software 2.0 features on older iPods
I agree, for now. I don’t want to “screw Apple” (funny, your username is auto-censored in here), I want to get their attention. If they correct this, that would show good customer support. If enough time passes and they don’t, they’ll have proven bad customer support.
What I did was to send them my opinions as feedback and share that feedback as an open letter. If they improve things, I’ll give it the same attention. If they don’t, we shall see.

or you could just write Apple directly. doing what you suggest may dissuade someone from buying an iPod all-together which isn’t in their best interest, or Apple’s.

"Pop" between tracks exists on all iPods?
My “old” 10GB iPod has no noticeable clicks BETWEEN tracks, at least not on a regular basis (the “charges” seem vaguely familiar, but maybe I’m just getting “superstitious” or paranoid about things now)—but I do clearly recall there being very loud “clicks” or even outright “pops” sometimes when the iPod has just been reset.
What I want to know is why the iPod “freezes” up every now and then! I’ve had that happen again recently, and I’m getting “spooked out” here! Also, I had the iPod clock not working on me once, not getting set no matter how hard I pressed the buttons (which worked fine otherwise)....
The iPod is a rather tempermental thing! Oviously, it’s a gay thing…! =D

MacDevCenter: Goodbye PDA, Hello iPod?
str—mindless apologists like you should be banned from typing their mindless diatribes…
back to the subject; Sabon’s comment (sorry, i think you’ll be waiting forever for someone to come up with a thumbboard, and it would be…well, inelegant). points to the fact that the ipod is almost there as a PDA, but it wasn’t designed as such, so it’s still just a music player with a couple of convenience features.

5 years life on the drive, eh?
Thus, using the iPod every single day for that 5 years costs you 27 cents (for the 30GB version). Or $1.92 every week if you listen to it at least once a week.

Small Dog Offers iPod Trade-in Program
Have you looked at used iPod prices on eBay since the new models came out? At the moment, you’d be lucky to pull $225 for a 20g, it seems. Smalldog, OTOH, has the opportunity to sell them as a tested reliable apple merchant, so they can demand higher “used” prices than any joe schmoe on eBay.

This is brilliant! I just signed up for one free month of the Premium plan. I’m downloading Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales” as we speak! It makes me appreciate my iPod even more!

Best Buy stores: iPods from $199
As of today it looks like Best Buy has pulled the $199 deal on the 10GB models. However, Target is still selling its remaining stock at that price; I just snagged one there this afternoon.

Classic iPod owners' frustration with Apple makes headlines
While some people are accepting of Apple’s decision, a lot of us feel differently. A suggestion for those of you who feel ripped off and forgotten-Let Apple know that you want the new features for the “classic” iPods by writing a review of the iPods both old and new on Amazon.com and similar websites. If you feel like I do, one could argue poor customer service in the review. Maybe this will get Apple’s attention.

"Pop" between tracks exists on all iPods?
This may not be directly relevant, but my Jornada PDA has exactly the same problem on its MP3 player: clicks between tracks.
It’s a very unpleasant noise and is the reason I decided to get an i-Pod for music in the first place (oh, apart from storage issues!).
It’s a real shame if the new i-Pod has a similar problem, I certainly won’t be upgrading soon.
