iPod clone spotted, will Apple pursue?

it looks NOTHING like it. Whoever posted the article didnt do it with care. It is entirely different. Any new mp3 player that uses has same colour LCD scr. is considered a clone?

Get over it, the iPOD is not the only mp3 player avaiblable.

Speck Products Announces Several New iPod Cases

Looking at the pictures, the cut-outs for the four buttons are rather small. In addition, the thickness of the plastic makes the buttoms very “deep” so if you have large or “meaty” fingers, it may be very hard to press the buttons.

Zip your iPod, new case announced

The new iPod iskin is 3.0mm thick as is our current iSkin, but that is where the similarity ends. For an update: on Wednesday the test of the mold worked excellent better than my expectations. The iSkin G3 mold is a very complicated mold because the new iSkin G3 is covered at the top and bottom, no openings to insert the center mold. Many mold makers said it was impossible. Molds for these type of cases are 3 part molds, top, bottom and center. These are easy to make when you have a large opening at the top of the case, like Groove Jacket, Aqua Jacket and the previous iSkins. The iSkin G3 mold is a 7 part mold and there is no opening for the mold at the top or bottom, so how was it done? How do you insert the iPod into the case? All answers will be coming soon. I did this on a gamble,  I felt if I did succeed, iSkin G3 would be the number 1 case on the market and no case of this type could come close to competing with iSkin G3 and iSkin G3 would set the new standard for what would be expected from a soft material case. My secrets will benefit the new iPod users, this will be the best case every. Loaded with 4 new features not available with any other cases of this type selling or offered for sale this month for the new iPod.

Feature #1 - top, bottom and both side are covered in the highest grade of soft Japanese silicone to offers maximum protection - feature 2 revealed in the next few days. Delivery of the case will be within the next few weeks. iSkin G3 will be packaged in a Maclear case which will you can us for additional protection when you are not using your iPod - this case will be free with the purchase of iSkin G3 from dealers supplied by

iPod clone spotted, will Apple pursue?

The mp3 player is actually made by Jens of Sweden. CNET spotted the player a number of months ago.

Other than an image, Jens no longer offers any info on the player on their web site. It was scheduled to begin shipping in May.

The suspense on the iskins is killing me!  Well, maybe not that bad but I really like my iskin keyboard protector so I’d imagine I’d like the ipod protector as well.  Kind of scares me when I see how much lint and other debris my fingers bring to the keyboard on a daily basis - and I wash my hands before using my computer!  I know the keyboard protectors are thinner than the ipod protectors but how much thicker are the ipod protectors?

naviPod Wireless Remote for iPods Announced

Ok. Since iRemote is vaporware and might never come out, it’s not fair to compare naviPod to an unreal product.

Open Letter to Apple Concerning the Mistreatment of Apple Customers

If you can find me a BMW for $1400 a year I will stop buying ipods.  You missed my point.  My point is that just because you can’t afford to upgrade doesn’t entitle you to free upgrades.  Zync, you should read closer before posting because I did buy the 30gig gen 3 ipod.  I bought the 5gig when it was the only ipod.  I bought the 10gig BEFORE the 20gig was available.  If you read a little closer you would have seen that i said the 10gig was gen1.  Zync, you said that I will be singing a different tune when Apple stops supporting my 30gig gen3 ipod.  You’re right, I will be singing the praises of my new 60gig gen 4 model, not complaining that Apple doesn’t support my 3rd gen.  Bob, my self esteem won’t be dented when Apple release the new firmware.  You may be different, but most people I know who own exclusive cars, like BMW, do so, at least in part, for status.  So excuse me for having paid for that and wanting to keep that “status” for a little while.  I’m really not the elitist that some of my posts sound like.  Just like I’m sure most of the people who want the free upgrade aren’t babies or any of the other names that have been thrown around.  I’m just trying to show people another way to look at this subject. I haven’t resorted to name calling because I feel my view has merit.  Just for the record, Apple will HAVE to release the new firmware the first time they do an update for the 3rd gen ipods.  1st and 2nd gen ipod owners will be able to download it off the Apple site for free just like the 3rd gen owners.

naviPod Wireless Remote for iPods Announced

The iRemote looks smaller because it isn’t real. The guy doesn’t seem to know anything about the actual electronics required, so he has no limitations in his design - he says so himself.

Speck Products Announces Several New iPod Cases

It seems that many companies are making these colorized, rubber “skin” covers, yet *none* of them cover the screen!

I’d love one of these rubber doodads to have a screen cover! Does anybody know of one in production?

iPod clone spotted, will Apple pursue?

apple have had a lot of problems in the past, they finally hit the right note and now there are loads of companys lining up to make ‘clones’, so you can expect them to be a bit mad

iPod clone spotted, will Apple pursue?

microwave?  i was thinking my pda could be a possible ipod clone…
1. it play’s mp3’s
2. got a directional control pad
3. i’ve got lots of bottles of white-out to play with :)

the only problem, is it doesn’t quite hold much more than a 1GB microdrive… ooh, that and it’s got a touchscreen…  apple, beat that!

My microwave is a ipod clone…its a bit bigger….but its white. I think Apple should pursue this. I can send them photos if they want. Also i want my microwave software upgraded to 2.0.

Samsung backs down from potential lawsuit by Apple, redesigns iPod clone

so… apple is forbidding other companies from using a white case for their product?  because it sure as heck isn’t the control pad!  maybe it’s the LCD screen that’s too close to the ipod design! (thanks rance)

maybe whatever’s left of the folks @ diamond should sue Samsung as well for copying their control pad concept.

apple has no case, and is just trying to play the bully.  sounds familiar, anyone remember the fiasco apple had dealing with it’s clone manufacturers?

Open Letter to Apple Concerning the Mistreatment of Apple Customers

You know what? No one would have anything to say about this if it were a laptop and not an iPod. Why? Because a new would would actually be a lot better. My iPod is just as expendable as a laptop to most of you. How often do you buy a laptop? I need my iPod to last that long and perform as it should. Computers get regular updates and their only limit is the hardware. That’s all I ask of my iPod.

Cougar, I also noticed that BMW line. I have a question. If you can’t afford a BMW, and I’m assuming you’d like one since you mentioned BMW specifically, maybe if you spent $1000 less a year on frivolous iPods you’d be able to buy one. Also what difference does it make if I have the same firmware that you do? If you bought 2 5GB iPods I still paid nearly as much as you did with my one 20GB. I don’t remember which gen 3 iPod you purchased but I don’t recall it being the 30GB and you know what, why don’t I just say you don’t deserve v 2.0 because you didn’t pay as much as me. That’s what you sound like. You bought a 5 and a 10, and while that’s nice I paid for a 20. According to your system that makes me better than you. Hell, why don’t we give firmware out according to what you paid. Or according to what generation your iPod is from. How about that? Yeah that means my 20GB deserves a higher firmware version than your 5 and your 10. Does that really make sense? You paid for hardware. I’m perfectly happy with my hardware, I don’t even care that much about gaps between tracks because that’s to be expected. But on the go playlists are something that is expected. Firmware 2.0 is to be expected for everyone. Not just gen 3 users. You’d think that you’d think different, especially having an iPod from each generation, and want everyone to share in the joy you have in v2. You’d even think that being an apple/mac person would make you want other apple/mac people to be happy. Remember there will also probably come a point when a 3rd version of the firmware revision will be released and you’ll be left out in the cold, that is if you don’t buy that BMW but buy another iPod, just as we are. It’s funny to see all the people that call me, and my friend who is Bob BTW, whiners and complainers are only owners of gen 3 iPods. Sorry, but the gen 1&2 people realize that we’ve been downtrodden. And to people like you, who have gen 1 or 2 iPods along with gen 3 ones, shame on you for wanting to deny us firmware upgrades. When your firmware stops being upgraded, and I’m not saying ours has for sure, you’ll be singing a different tune.

Open Letter to Apple Concerning the Mistreatment of Apple Customers

to cugardew again… i just read your comment about not being a lawyer and not driving a bmw, but having spent 1400 dollars on ipods. i drive a bmw… and if i wanted to i could go out and buy a new ipod every time they came out with one… but i will not. it’s not about money, it’s not about being on top… there are new features that i would like but i’m perfectly happy with my ipod, except for the fact that they have not released the firmware they promised gen 2 in may. the first gen ipods have the same firmware as mine, i’m glad they got the upgrade, i wish they got an upgrade to firware 2. anyway, think logically about this: how much would it cost to port an operating system to another platform nearly identical to the one it’s on? not much. this would keep customers happy… which seemed to be important to apple to begin with. giving me the new firmware does no harm to you other than denting your self esteem, which seems to be directly linked to the superiority of your ipod over mine, and which you have payed dearly for. take money out of the picture… i still use my mac classics. that is not to say i dont have a new iMac, it means that i still enjoy using my mac classics. why would someone go with mac? they’re pretty, their hardware is faster, but they really dont do unless you’re talking budget graphic manipulation where they’re the machine of choice… the main reason is that apple puts out a good product and cares about its users… mac users used to be a community, now all they seem to do is complain about someone who wants apple to be as they were…
