15GB iPod $314, 30GB $404 at Dell Home

I picked up a 30GB iPod from Best Buy this past weekend (I wasn’t expecting Dell to get them for a while..) Anyways - when I purchased mine, a friend bought a Creative Zen and used a pricematch from Dell for 10% off.. (Best Buy doesn’t normally do internet price matches). Well, when I saw the Dell discounts today - I printed out the shopping cart with the discounts and free shipping and brought it in to the same sales guy.. He remembered me, and did the pricematch PLUS 10%.. I ended up paying $394 for my 30GB!  :)

(I sold my 20GB WinPod on ebay last week for $425 - I SAVED money by upgrading!)

Last I knew, you could buy an 4 yr warranty at BBuy even if you didn’t but the iPod there.  I know I did with my iPod last Fall.

Well, the price is great, but as an owner of an out of warranty, dead 5 GB iPod, I really want an extended warranty.  I just bought a 15 GB 3G iPod from BestBuy with a 4 year warranty (+$40).  I hate paying full retail and I hate BestBuy, but I don’t think I can buy an iPod without the extended warranty.

I just tried and the 15 gb came to $359. The 30 gb was something like $454.

How’d you get it so cheap?

Original Windows iPods Ineligible For MUSICMATCH Update

Or just snap the Musicmatch CD, throw it away, and use something good like Ephpod instead! ;)

Yes, there is no difference, all new iPod models ship with Mac and PC software included. I have corrected the Dealmac news item.

15GB iPod $314, 30GB $404 at Dell Home

I purchased a 15gb as a gift for someone today from Dell. The discount was $86.03 after I added a $11.29 pack of 10 80 min CDRs. WIth an additional $8 off shipping. This is absolutely the best deal I’ve seen for a new iPod.

Windows: MUSICMATCH Jukebox 8 Released

I am amazed of the above comments. It is totally pointless to compare MM to Windows Media. Both are total and utter crap.

Have any of you tried free software lately. WinAmp is way better than anything else. You can use your folders to organize your stuff. ID3-TagIt is way better than any of the above for mass tagging. and EphPod (2.58) is the best to hook your iPod up.

That ia all I use and need. Paid $0 for all of it. No DRM, no crap. Can copy files to and from my iPod, etc.

Switch people, switch to free!

I thought there was no difference in the PC and Mac versions of the new Ipods. Is there any difference? Can I take a 2nd-gen “PC” Ipod and use it with my iBook? What about a 2nd-gen “Mac” and use it with my Windows box?

Windows: MUSICMATCH Jukebox 8 Released

i paid the $20 and i thought it was a ripoff… there’s not a lot different but i’m still loyal to musicmatch and i think its a great program better than all other music jukeboxes, i think they need crossfading though

Windows: MUSICMATCH Jukebox 8 Released

Well, I’m excited about this latest release.  And until Apple releases iTunes for Windows MusicMatch is the way to go!

Windows: MUSICMATCH Jukebox 8 Released

In yet another slap in the face to Windows iPod users (who outnumber Mac iPod users, by the way), MusicMatch 8.0 is not a free upgrade for those of us who purchased MusicMatch as part of our iPod package.

The upgrade to 8.0 must be purchased seperately.

I for one will not be paying for a software update which to me is just a bug fix over the current, buggy, sloppy 7.5 version.  This is ridiculous.

As of now, I am no longer recommending iPod to my friends.  Neither Apple nor Musicmatch seem interested in supporting their customers with software updates after less than one year.  Unbelievable.

Windows: MUSICMATCH Jukebox 8 Released

I would disagree. Windows Media Player 9 is a great player for me. I have had functionality and compatibility problems with MM though.

My 20gig unit from Dell shipped! $285 for a new gen2 20gig iPod windoze version. Sweet deal! I think the difference between the /a and /c is mac vs windoze. Good luck to all!
