iTunes Music Store Launched

I just download a new album by Mindi Abair.  I really like the store.  Worked flawlessly.  Great selection.  I’m liking the AAC format.  I’m listening to the album now on PB12 with Grado SR60s.  Sounds great.

OK, let me ask it here too.

What is up with the “Apple ID or .Mac” account requirement? Isn’t it that those actually cost money (like $100/yr)? Isn’t that a subscription fee? Did I miss something?

iRemote Concept for iPod

Might want to redesign your mock up ..... and griffin as well,, since “ironically” after 1.5 years of foolin aground delays delays… and finally getting this itrip together.. the very day there going to ship one to me,,, is the day apple changed the architecture and now we all have our butts stapled to the wall…:(....  when I get the itrip , I will be sending it back and moving on with apples new direction.  Apple ought to quit fleecing the customer base and get all of the important features into the ipod in the first place…right away….by the time I get the ipod I want ....  I will have bought 8 or 10 intermediate versions..

iRemote Concept for iPod

This is the best idea that I have ever seen!! It beats any inline remote and will make playing music with the iPod even more fun than it already is!!

Apple Music Service features

Nobody seems to mention the cost of the .Mac account (required for Apple Music Service). It is 100/yr. Am I missing something?

To tell the whole thruth they say “Apple ID or .Mac account required”. Is any of those free?

Converting MP3 to AAC is not useful really. To take full advantage of the AAC format you would have to reimport your music from your CD’s into iTunes (if your music was from a CD).

Yes, the rumor is that there will be an updated iTunes which support AAC and 1-click ordering. I’m not sure if they would provide a batch processor for MP3 > AAC, let’s hope so.

Does this news that AAC format is available mean that we will get a new iTunes and a software update for the iPod. We also need a batch updater for existing mp3’s

Uh, you might want to fix the MacMinute link. You have it set as href=“macminute.com” instead as href=“http://www.macminute.com”

Griffin ships iTrip FM Transmitter for iPod

Any “independent” review? How does it compare to iRock and the rest of the crap?

It should probably be stated that kainjow is the author of Pod2Go, which has indeed been popular with iPod users. User feedback on Pod2Go can be found in this iPodlounge forum.

iSync and iCal are the *extra* applications you have to install/use. 2 apps to use while you could use any 1 simple app like Pod2Go to get the news. Also, iSync is like 50x slower AND loading a PHP script to parse the RSS webpage is even slower! And iCal is a freakin’ slow app already so once you get like 5 calendars it gets mad slow.

Sorry that’s just how I feel. Feel free to do whatever you want but I’m telling you…it’s not the best way to go.

Apple's website debuts new store design

They probably kept the 5gb model so they could have a starting price of $299 and not a sticker shock at $399

Forums: iPod Phone Survey by Apple

They asked about all aspects. Took about 10 minutes. They asked about software, hardware, ease of use, battery life, where I used it. Even asked how I accessed music i.e. playlist or browse etc. Asked several demographics questions - age, number in household, other electronic devices. I think it was a satisfaction survey.

New iPods with Docking Stations Coming Soon

I agree, as the new buttons are disturbing and screw with the aesthitics. Also agree why have color for device when was only only designed for playing music/storage, you want color go buy crayons, drains way to much on batteries, just take look at orignal gameboy, simplicity was its key to fortune, anyone remember Sega Gamegear, Atari Lynx or NECs handheld?
