Hey Brad, if you got your Ipod 15 GB less than 30 Days ago, then return it! and get either a mini by ordering it from Apple's website or a new 4G Ipod 20 GB for the same price, $299.

Horrible product and support from Iskin. My iPod has many scratches and scuff marks from the case and plastic screen protector. I emailed the company and they chose to ignore me. Avoid this company!

ive been using the evo for about 4 months now...and it works great! i dont haveto wory about scratching my ipod or getting it very dirty....well thats what i thought UNTIL i took it off!!

as soon as i peeled the evo off i was left with a sticky dirty looking ipod...its not like a giant dirty sticker, but there was a film left on both the front and the back...i mean i had to really wipe my ipod down to get the gunk off....thats the only set back....so i just put my evo back on because i was so frustrated with it...

Hi Michael, I was wondering how you cut you eVo so that it works the same way as the exoflip (where did you cut so the rubber will fold up?)

thanks!

I just got my Evo case last night and let me say it is great for daily use. I have tried the speck case, Incase case and finally the Evo. I like this the best. The screen protector is the best out there and really adds a great value to the case as a whole. Also the solid feel of the case when on the IPOD is great. I think the buttons could be a bit bigger but that's being picky. Overall I would reccomend this case to anyone looking for a daily use case. I was pretty skeptical at first since I could not use it in my dock or INMOTION speakers, but I think I will eventually follow Chris's example above and cut a Flip for me to be able to dock it. So far it does not bother me too much that I can't dock it. It is easy to pull in and out of the case.

I'm thinking of getting the iSkin in either Wasabi (is it really lime? That'd be awesome) or Blush (I heard the pink was good), but my dad, who's the one with the credit card, thinks it's a waste at 29.99 plus S+H. Is it really worth it?

Posted by Melodie on August 4, 2004 at 5:13 PM (PDT) Comment 69

Its worth it. But buy it on ebay mine cost 15 bucks there

Posted by Applemacdude on August 5, 2004 at 7:01 AM (PDT) Comment 70

This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you actually get the iPod into the case? I was considering getting the evo because most people say its the best. Also, does the lava version look like it does on the website? which is the best colour to get?

ok iv worked out how to get the ipod into the case, but can somebody please tell me if the carbon and arctic cases are nice.

Posted by jc on August 10, 2004 at 10:30 AM (PDT) Comment 72

I'm going to put this bluntly. This is complete ####. I do not recommend the eVo at all. When I first got it and used the belt clip within days it was broken from just simple wear and tear, and I'm very careful with what I use. I corners of the screen cracked off after one drop from no more than 3 feet high. It's a ripoff. Don't buy it. I regret it completely. Forgot the pretty colors and remember what is meant for and that it doesn't deliver as promised.

I have the caron and the wasabi cases, and I am quite pleased with both. The belt clip looks fairly stable, but it could probably scratch the ipod while it use. I don't use it ever, so it doesn't bother me. It doesn't pick up that much dust/hair/whatever, provided that you don't own pets like dogs or cats. The screen protector works just as it's supposed to, and the colors are spiffy. The carbon is just slightly darker than what is pictured, and the green is lighter and more opaque than you might think. It like it personally, but if you want better pictures just look at the pictures they have of the mini cases on their site. I purchased mine on ebay, because no matter how nice it is I'm not paying $30+ for a piece of rubber, but it was worth the $20 or so. All in all, a very kick-### product. Thanks for helping me decide.

I just bought an Iskin
in black, and i must say its very impressive
i dont have any use for a belt clip as i dont particularly trust it and dont really want to be flashing the ipod around on my hip.
Anyway just wanted to say thanks as reading this article helped me to come to the conclusion to purchase one from the local applecentre.
Thanks ipod lounge!

My first iPod case was the neoprene one from Marware. it has the multidapt clip, wich is made of sturdy plastic. Too bad the case itself is of bad craftmanship..neoprene covers display, inconvenient acces to switch/dock-port....

I used my iSkin evo for 4 month now. It fits really nice and protects well. BUT:

I am one of those who uses the clip, either on my belt, or to attach it in the car. The first one broke after 4 weeks, luckily in my car so my ipod didnt get hurt... I wrote to iSkin, and they sent me a new one after 3 weeks free of charge. The new one broke again, so now I decided to buy the older exo2 case with stainless steel clip.

It really is a joke if you read what iSkin writes on their webpage (quote):
"...We went back to the drawing board and came up with a completely new belt clip design. It’s made of a durable, non-shattering, light weight plastic polymer that won’t snap apart..." THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT DOES!!! And, whoever went to the drawingboard should get fired, or go to a designer-school. So many design flaws in 3 pieces of plastic are unbelievable (btw, I design industrial machines).

I am very happy with my Sonic eVo iSkin that i purchased. It fits perfectly and the screen protector is GREAT. It doesn't scratch the screen at all and fits under the iSkin very well. Every once in a while you have to adjust the screen because if it has been in a bag it moves around, but this isn't such a big deal. the lint-attraction isn't as big a problem as its hyped up to be... i have to clean it about once every 3 months. i don't have a problem with the uncovered buttons and scroll-wheel -- i haven't gotten a scratch on either, but i'm a pretty careful with my iPod. i don't use an iTrip, dock, or belt clip, so these problems don't pertain to me. my one problem is that it is pretty bulky, but i guess as far as iPod cases go this is the slimmest case, so this can't be helped.

i believe i invested my money in a good product. it does what it is meant to do... protect my iPod from scratches and drops. i don't expect any more from it.

I just bought the Ghost version and am pleased with it so far. Can someone tell me where can I find ways to mod the skin so it can fit into the dock without literally yanking the skin off?

hey hey! have just ordered a pink evo case (just cos it was cute...tho apparently it's better than the others colour-wise anyway, so cool). but was really just wondering, has anyone seen the 'brushed' ipods? a mate saw something about it on the net, says you have to rub it with a washing up sponge and it looks 'well cool, like factory steel'? has anyone heard this? and can explain it in real terms? cos i don't really get it.
guess when this case comes it won't really matter anyway.

Well after EXTENSIVE research...i finally decided that the eVo2 was the case for me. I have the 4th generation iPod so naturally i wanted a case that was stylish and effective. Well i just received my eVo2 yesterday and here are the stats:

THE GOOD:all around protection, every corner is protected. I got pink because i heard its the closest to the depicted color, and it came pretty close...so pink is a good look. Also the feel of the rubber is great and you feel confident that your iPod is protected. Also the plastic that goes over the screen is great as well as clear.

THE BAD: well because i researched i knew better than to use the clip, and much to my dissapointment IT IS CHEESY!!! so i took that sucker off immediately. DO NOT USE THE CLIP!!! also yes it is true the case attracts lint like i dont know what. Lastly...once you receive the case its hard not to say to yourself "i spent 30 dollars on this!!" " because it is just a seamless peice of rubber....but....i guess 30 dollars is better than paying 300 for a brand new iPod. Oh and people please dont get excited over the clear placstic case that comes with the iskin....its plastic with a zipper so u know its cheap....cute but probably wont last long....i just had probs with my zipper this morning

SO OVERALL: this case does in fact do what its supposed to, which is to protect....but as with anything u buy there are going to be negatives....just be careful with ur iPod in general and u should be fine. Ill write u guys back if i drop the iPod while in the iskin and tell u how protective it was.
