Follow,-up: I purchased the Belkin Auto Kit and the Belkin TuneCast II FM Transmitter and both work perfectly with the Showcase. The dock connector slot is sized perfectly for the connector end of the Belkin Auto Kit . I am very pleased.

I ordered this case on a wednesday and got it on monday :/ and then when they delivered it, i was at class, so i had to wait until 5:30 to pick it up!! When I opened the package, my first impression was that it looked cheap. Then when I took it out, and placed my ipod in it, i definitely changed my mind on that. people saying it is bulky just have small hands. this is the ultimate case i have been looking for!!

it's an awesome case, the best hard case out there. too bad it doesnt support my itrip! i think im going to take an xacto knife and cut off part of the top

this case is nearly perfect. best case for the around for the iPod clickwheel.

the only thing wrong with this case is the lack of iTrip support. this can be easily and safely solved by using a box cutter or a rotary cutting tool like a Dremel product and cutting the top slightly to fit the iTrip. just be careful.

also, the case can be scratched, and if it is over the LCD, it is visible and distracting.

i am on my second Showcase, the first one i purchased fell, and the latch on the side that holds the case together was damaged. absolutley no harm done to the iPod. the white gets dirty on the corners, but can be washed with soap and water.

by far the most protective, best looking case for an iPod 4G on the market.

if you insist on getting ClickWheel protection, buy Power support WheelFilm, or iPoDonut, etc.

I modified mine with a Dremel to fit the itrip. Bit of a shame on a brand new case but now it works a treat.

I had a tough time deciding between the iPod Armor and the Showcase- in the end I decided I would forgo more damage protection to provide better scratch protection. The showcase is awesome. I highly recommend it.

I used this case for a 60 gig pod, upon the recommendation of a member of staff at London's new high street Apple Store, and the buckle which locks the case closed snapped after three weeks. This was a pain but on the plus side I have called Contour and they have promised to send a new case out within two days. I will let you know in a future posting whether the case came in two days and whether I had to pay any postage costs.

ATTENTION ALL - firstly this is a great case. It really is the best way to cover your ipod, but make sure you get black becasue the white will get dirty quickly.

More importantly to everyone having shipping problems; OREDER THIS PRODUCT ON AMAZON. It is only $21 US (as opposed to $30), and i got my ipod one and a half days after i ordered (it was the cheapest 2-5 day priority mail). This was for a new case. They do a great job there and i have never had a rpoblem. The website for contour said it would take one or two weeks. This is a great case and for less than 30 bucks through amazon you cannot go wrong.

Agree with the above reviewer--I bought mine on Amazon and it was the cheapest I found it--and it came SUPER fast (it even arrived a day before my new 4G 20gig!)

I think it's a good case--yes, the white gets a little dirty, but it is very easy to clean, just a touch of water and it rubs right off. I LOVE the dye job idea. I may have to try it!!!

But my ipod (4G, 20gig) fits absolutely perfectly in it. It makes me feel a lot more secure, walking around town, at the gym, etc., about my little baby! I've even gotten compliments on the Showcase itself.

Highly recommended.

Does anyone know if this case fits the Photo iPod's?

Posted by greensticks on February 23, 2005 at 4:11 PM (PDT) Comment 110

Nice case - very protective. I've had mine for a couple of months, and my biggest complaint is that the white rubberized sides/back get very grungy in a very short time. Mine is looking pretty nasty at this point (3 mos.) And I'm not talking about dropping it in the dirt or anything extreme - just normal handling and slipping it into a tote bag pocket. Seems it would have been better to have a harder plastic that would stay cleaner/be able to clean off better. I'm getting ready to change to a hard shell...

Just picked mine up @ Carbon Computing in TO. Chose the black version, based on comments on this board. Fits like a glove on my 4G 40Gb, and holds snugly on my belt. Really good value.

Just received this case.Used my dremel tool to shave off top portion for itrip to fit per driv3r.Works much better.I have the dlo nylon sport jacket also. The contour is better, although I like the swivel clip on the dlo.

For skipjimson:
Love what you did with your now orange showcase!

I'm interested in dipping my white showcase in dye. I was just wondering, you dipped the whole thing in? the dye didn't stain the clear plastic?

Could you send me a message at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) ?

... I want mine in red smile to match my funky red earbud covers! sweet...

Got this case even before I received my iPod based on the reviews and what I was looking for in a case. I just got a 20gig 4g color/photo iPod. These a bit thicker than the original 20gig 4g. Therefore, the inner padding that comes with this case (3 different thickness sizes came with) are off. The instructions with the case said the thickest padding was for 20gig, but the case wouldn't even close with that pad, and the thinest pad left the iPod rattling in the case. The middle size padding works well, but there is some seperation at the top and bottom of the case that shows it is still a bit too thick.

Has anyone else experienced this? Just wanted to throw it out there.

Can someone please tell me if this will protect the front (minus the click wheel) the sides and back from getting scratched.

Posted by Tweek on July 27, 2005 at 5:43 AM (PDT) Comment 118

Yes, psujeter02, the foam spacers are a little inadequate. I'm trying to get used to the thickest one for my 20gb 4G, but I think I will likely use the medium sized one. I was initially concerned that the foam spacers left a little too much of the iPod exposed, but it doesn't seem to be that much of a problem yet.

Tweek, this case will protect your iPod as you asked if you're careful. I'm starting to notice little scratches and 'wear and tear' on my click wheel though - the iPod is less than 2 weeks old.

For Canadians, I purchased the Contour at the Apple Store in Yorkdale, for under $50 taxes in. They also do mail order.

Overall I am happy with the case (black), and will post here if I encounter any problems with it.

I have this case in white and it is beautiful and functional, however the rubber edges do get filthy quickly. You must clean it often, but otherwise it's a great buy!

Posted by Lyrehc03 on October 5, 2005 at 5:14 PM (PDT) Comment 120

This is about the best case ive ever had. If you're quite a clumsy person like me, this is one for you. I've dropped it from waist height, i picked it up and it was still playing. Usually, if i dropped it without the case, it would stop playing. Only problem is the accessibilty to the add ons, but apart from that, its through and through rock hard.
