60G photo to arrive soon. Conflicting opinions - does it fit in inMotion speakers or any other portable speakers? If not, will AL or JBL fix the problem or will Apple bring out a new thinner iPod photo & REALLY annoy me?

I had a 40gb before my 40gb photo and although I only tried it once I am sure the photo fits in the 40gb stand!
Can anyone confirm ?

I have recently bought an Ipod Photo 60GB and am pleased to inform you that it fits perfectly well in the Altec Lansing InMotion speakers (Not the new version with remote). It would seem obvious that it would as the stand apparently fitted all of the older versions of Ipod which were much "fatter" so why Apple and even Altec Lansing say that it is not compatible is a mystery?
I hope this helps you and any other potential buyers!

I just got the JBL On Stage and unfortunately my iPod Photo 60 GB does not fit in the included 40 GB adapter. It will fit if you take out the adapter but then you have to be careful when you try to control the iPod. I have written an e-mail to JBL to ask if they would be making an adapter for the iPod Photo, but have not received any response from them...

The discontinued 40's are on sale at Apple's webstore for $379.00. I picked one up.

Posted the Power user sheet too, cause this kind of sounds like a new user question.

I own and installed the Ipod Shuffle iTunes cd.Do I need to install the Ipod Photo CD again to receive the capability of transfering photos

I have the Altec Lansing inMotion speakers with the remote and as long as the box has the compatible with iPod Photo, it will fit. I have the adapter trays for all the iPods and my 60GB iPod Photo fits just fine and I use the remote.

I got my 60GB iPod Photo & love it. Easy to use, (if you are familiar with the digital music revolution). I have it connected via the back of my Sound Blaster Audigy +MP3 (firewire) port & it only took rougly 3 hours to upload 8800 tracks & 1300 photos. That's a big plus in my book. I've had the Samsung players & nothing compares to the iPod. You just don't become #1 in the market overnight!

I just got a 40 Gig Photo from Apple for $349 (Student). I like it so far but it is a little thick. I'll take the thick for the extra 10 gigs of space. I am sure that it will support any new hardware that Apple comes up with and more importatntly it still comes with the Dock, firewire, carrying case, A/V cable, and of course the USB cable. I couldn't see going the almost extra $100 for the 60 Gig photo nor could I see spending $20 less on the 30 Gig. Both of which don't include the extras. I love the album cover Art and the calendar features and the fact taht I can back up my Hard Drive on it (Mac User). If they are still available I would grab one. I am now awaiting my armband from extrememac and I will be set. Oh they don't offer engaving on teh 40's but that is ok because it is a mistake to get it done, then you have to send ti to apple whereas in teh store they just give you a new one.

Today I just got one of the 40G iPp from There on sale through 3/31/05. I LOVE IT!!! As mentioned it's thicker than the others and I thought that would be a prob but it isn't. Yesterday I went to the Apple Store and bought the Agent18 case. So when I opened the pkg today I was able to take the iPod, in mint condition, and slide it right into it's new home. I'm such an Apple freak that even the unpackaging of the iPod was an emotional experience. This company does everything with such attention to detail and excellence.

Anyway, I followed the advice of someone else and left the plastic cover that comes in the package on the click wheel. VERY WISE MOVE. If you have the Agent 18 case with the Apple-provided click wheel covering it's a perfect match. I also ordered some click wheel covers from power support.

One last thing - if you're trying to choose between the photo and b&w ipod GO WITH THE PHOTO. I was the same way and i'm so glad I chose the photo.

Does anybody know whether the original Ipod Photo 30gb has the same screen, battery etc. as the latest 20/60gb Ipods? You can still pick them up for around the same price as the current 20gb package, but figure that if the features or screen are not as good I would rather have less hard drive space.

I'm also hoping to use it with a digital camera while abroad to save on memory cards - can you view raw images on the ipod?

Hi,I just got my mini ipod for my birthday and have an option of getting ipod photo.According to the storeperson, he told my friend that ipod photo is not as good as mini ipod because of the hard-drive? I always wanted to have an ipod photo and I'm still not sure what should I do?
If someone out there can give me some advice that would be great.
