i bought one (in tokyo)...those too larger sheets are adhesive...and sticks the the entire pack, and or entire front of the ipod..

Its just an extra barrier from attracting scratches.

How tough is it to take the case off? That's the one thing i hated about the iSee so i hope this would be better.

not tough...you can either use the little plastic-washer it comes with...or use your fingernail.

It is engineered well, so it holds together firm, but yet easily disassembled. (sounds weird, but just take my word for it;p)

I was looking at this Power Support crystal jacket here, and the article didn't say anything about where you can purchase this. Please tell me where.

EP292,

I was wondering the same thing. Nothing on their website, google found nothing too. I guess we'll wait and see.

neo, thanks for your response. I'm hoping this is the case that will allow me to remove the ipod without it getting scratched, *cough* isee.

Look no more. Stop obsessing and buy this case. I went to powersupportusa.com, bought it for 27 bucks (with shipping), it took three days for delivery and the thing is perfect. It's literally a snap to install, all the components are protected (including the wheel. they give you a little plastic sticky thing for it. I chose to use the plastic sticky thing that came with my G4). I spent about an hour deciding which case to go with, reading all these reviews. If only somebody told me what I'm telling you -- buy this, buy this -- i could have spent more time downloading instead of reading.

This is my third (and hopefully final) case for my 4G 40 GB iPod.

I started with an iSkin eVo2 which was a good fit and well made with an excellent screen cover, but access to the various ports was limited and I really wanted to be able to dock the iPod.

So I bought an #### eXoflpfb, which I still think is a great idea if you want to be able to dock, but unfortunately the fit and build quality just weren't that good (especially the screen cover) and I couldn't get used to using the scroll wheel through a silicon cover. (It also produces a wet-look, which is none too pretty.)

The Crystal Jacket is by far the most practical and prettiest case I have had. With the front, back and wheel protectors included you have complete scratch protection. It doesn't add to size of the iPod any more than a silicon case and imagine the protection offered is just as good. It's very easy to remove the iPod for use with a dock and the protectors will keep it scrtach-free when you do. It's also a lot easier to spell than the previous two cases ! The only down side was I got stung for customs duty on this one (in the UK) when it got delivered, which hasn't happened for any of the other iPod stuff I have ordered from the US recently. Overall highly recommended :o)

P.S. The Agent 18 Shield Case looks very similar and seems better in some respects and worse in others.

Purchased the Crystal Jacket online on Jan 21, '05.

Product is said to have been shipped by USPS for "International". However, it never reached my door.

I am now struggling with a less-than-efficient support service. About 5 of my mails to the sales support dpt were replied automatically by a msg saying they have a bit of backlog - nobody EVER called me back or contacted me.

I had to phone to the US to find finally a nice sales support person (Keiko) which found the Tracking Number, then told me to check with my local USPS referrent. Which won't tell me a damn thing about the parcel.

Now i'm fed up and starting to get angry. Power Support USA is so successfull they can't deal properly with the problems when they arise.

Oh. I just forgot. Of course, i've been charged the full amount upon order. 20$ + 20$ shipping.
That's enough.

hi, could anyone, who has this case, tell me if you can easily attach iTrip while the iPod is in the case? thanks,

PS. All UK reviewers, where did you get your case from? any UK retailer? thx

I do not know if it attaches easily to iTrip. I will say this, though, this is a great case. The B- it earned is far too low a grade.

My first case was the iskin, good enough of a protector but it made the ipod too bulky. also, the iskin, and other silicon cases, are "sticky" making it difficult to take in and out of my pocket.

not so with the crystal jacket, very easy to take in and out of pocket. very easy to take case on and off, easy to connect the ipod to the PC (no dock, thoough).

this is a great case, I highly reccomend it (I have had mine for close to 3 months)

Does anyone know if this case fits my 40GB iPod Photo?

Posted by JZ on April 7, 2005 at 1:40 PM (PDT) Comment 13

coming back to this board after my battle with PowerSupport USA ended today. (see above for description).

I've been refunded of 20$ by PS. they claim they can not refund for the shipping costs once the product has been shipped.

I'm of the impression they make me pay 20$ shipping for the lack of commitment and/or feedback they have had from USPS. I mean, they have the tracking number, the item has been shipped by USPS overseas, yet they are not able to provide ANY explanation to what happened to my Crystal Jacket.

They should have been really nasty with USPS until they'd receive an explanation. NO. They charge me the shipping costs instead.

Don't buy from them if you leave overseas.

Hi,

Anyone knows if iPod photo 30GB can fit in a Crystal Jacket 20GB?

Thanks

OK, this looks like the case I'm going to get until the Innopocket Magnum is released. Did any of you purchase it from somewhere other than directly from Power Support (i.e. any cheaper places)?
