Would an iTrip or remoteremote 2 work through the top of the case?

I am thinking of getting one of these for my mini, but the velcro turns me off. I also looked at the review from the Trailvue, but the lining that would go around the iPod totally turns me off. Do you know any other products that are similar to this?
