If only says "iPod Cassette Adapter" on the adapter. Why are we to believe it's not designed specifically for the iPod?

You dont need one SPECIFICALLY designed for the iPod, the one i used for my CD player works fine with my iPod.

XtremeMac markets this product in a kit that comes with rca cables and other connectors. They market this to the Ipod community, I use this exact cassette adapter in my car. I'm waiting for the my Griffin Remote to ship before I replace it.

I must say that i've had no problems with it, except mine shipped with a white cord that is out of place against my black dash (about 1 inch of the cord shows from where I ran it behind the dash into my head unit). My next adapter will have a black cord.

I have a Sony cassette adapter and it works so much better for me than iTrip.

I've pre-ordered the SmartDeck from Griffin Technology though as that cassette adaptor will allow me to use my Next, Prior, Pause, Stop buttons on my cassette player (whether I'm in my car or using a boombox).

what i mean was designed for ipod. its like if its designed for mac, it is not guaranteed that it would work for something else. they cant just put a sticker on this thing and say its designed for ipods and sell them overpriced. there is nothing different about this adapter than other adapter you buy from radioshack or sony. they are the same fundamentally. if I have a packbag and i say its designed for ipods, would you actually think its specifically for ipods because you can put an ipod in it?

I have a Maxell adapter for my '94 STS and it works better than I thought one would as far as sound. I am very pleased with it.

I also have an FM xmitter on order - I doubt I'll use it in the car but maybe around the house.
