I have a 40 GB, 4G iPod. I've always thought the ProClip holders looked very sharp. They are a bit pricey, but then again, so are iPods. grin

I would already have bought a ProClip holder, except that I'd really prefer something where I didn't have to plug and unplug wires into my iPod every time I get in and out of the car.

What I'd love to see is a ProClip holder that has a dock on the bottom. Just slide in the iPod and go.

Any chance of that happening?

I use a ProClip for my mini in my car. It's perfect and mounts wonderfully. It gives a very professional look to the car installation and was money well spent for me.

If they could provide a Clip like this with a built in dock for my iPod Photo I'd buy two in an instant smile

screw heads never really look good in a car interior... unless they are allen heads. They should have done a bit more to hide those I think.

An improvement over the earlier model. I still love my Seido iMount holder which has a dock, DC power and audio output. I can get my iPod running in my car in about 2 seconds.

ProClip is top-shelf, but I have chagrins with this velveteen fuzz applied holder. There is no mention of the velveteen fuzz material composition and I suspect that is a spray applied product that will eventually come off in chunks or its fuzziness will simply wear away from repeated usage. I almost see an image of Elvis painted on the that an available option?

I feel that this was an unnecessary change for Proclip. I didn't find that the old holder was scratchy at all. What they SHOULD have done was release a model that can accommodate an iPod with silicon skin or other case.

Sorry Proclip, I like the product but I went with the Freeway PDA holder by Bracketron as a result . I still use the mount (which is a great product) but needed something that didn't require my iPod to be naked.

I just use a PDA holder ($25) that happens to fit my iPod...seems much simpler. 'Course, I have a 2G iPod

I have a 60GB iPod photo and use an iSkin with it regularly. I also happened to have an older ProClip that I used for my Treo 300 smartphone. Believe it or not, the fit is nearly perfect for iSkinned iPod! It works great. In case you needed a solution now...

Could placing the ipod in front of the vent damage it? Like from the A/C blowing on it or the heater?

The way I see it... you spend $200 - $600 on an iPod, I think another $40 - $70 on a customized, elegant solution is worth every penny. If you wanted to save money, you would have bout a Dell Jukebox or somehting... but you have an IPOD, the sleekest piece of audio mastery made. This isn't about practicality... it's about sexiness... shouldn't your iPod accessories be just as sexy?

I had a DLO TransPod because I wanted a cool looking car solution... guess what? That $100 piece of crap scratched my iPod, jiggled at every turn and completely stopped working after just 3 months! Also, depending on your car, solutions that go in cigarette lighters or cup holders suck in terms of access and viewing.

I'm in my car 30 miles a day to and from work in ever worsening San Diego traffic... being able to slip my iPod into a sleek fitted holder and simply plug in my Monster iPlay Plus for charging and FM transmission is about as sexy as you can get without paying for an Alpine head unit / iPod converter solution at $500 or more!
