Finally, a 9v charger put out by a reputable company that not only seems to work okay (as long as I don't smell smoke, it's all good) but is super-affordable as well. I'm going to be taking this one on my 15-hour flight to Hawaii next month.

It looks great!
But 30 dollars for international shipment :/ Anyone know of a shop in Europe that sells this (and ships to Denmark)? Couldn't find anything on Google..but then again it's brand new.

Is the charging icon in the iPod battery meter supposed to show when the Tunejuice is plugged in? I know Tunejuice isn't supposed to directly charge the iPod's battery, but I didn't know if it is supposed to show up.

I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like opened up--essentially if it looks just like the juryrigged rechargable battery setups that can be found in the iPodlounge forums.

Do I understand this correctly: Whenever the Tunejuice is plugged into the iPod, it (and only it) is supplying power to the iPod and the internal iPod battery is essentially "off"?

Just wondering--do these battery units affect an iPod with an upgraded battery? I switched to an upgraded battery and got my 2 extra hours. Will plugging in this 9v work with it? Or for that matter any of the external batteries because I'm assuming (yes I know) that they are putting out voltage based on the stock battery rating.

Thanks,
Serena

To WarCow!

This company may ship a TuneJuice to Denmark.

The TuneJuice just takes the 9V straight to the firewire power pins on the Ipod dock connector. There is a 10 uF capacitor in parallel across the 9V, and there is also a 260K resistor from pin 21 on the dock connector to ground. TuneJuice seems to work OK on my son's mini, but not my 30 Gig 5G model. When connected to the dock, I get the backlight and a blank screen. Tapping the click wheel takes me to normal operation, but it seems to run off the Ipod battery, not the external battery. I tried operation with a good stable 9V supply instead of the battery, but no joy. I am wondering if the resistor value (which tells the Ipod an accessory is connected) is the culprit. Ideas?

Will this recharge the iPods internal battery?
