Does it work with the JBL OnStage speakers?

It looks like a very cool product. I am contemplating whether to buy this.

2 Questions.
1) What is that piece of plastic in the 3rd picture above the screen protecter? will i have to pull this out when i put it on the dock?

2) Is it just me or does it look like in the last picture, he has a butt.

My guess is that it's a spacer for the thinner iPods to stop them being loose in the case. If that's so then my guess is you wouldn't need to take it out to dock.

Is this a case or a stand?

I think they're stands, but they look cool either way. smile

The crash test dummy of the iPod scene, remiss of any real findings after its accident; its accident being it was even manufactured.

hey! leave the little guy alone!! If you don't like it, don't buy it!!
I hope (but doubt) they bring out a 3G one (or i'll have to get a 4G iPod!!)!
Great idea for an unusual but funny product!!

I thought it would be pretty lame on first-glance, but kind of want one now... Too bad I have a 3G.

What about iGuy shuffle?

Posted by minty on May 30, 2005 at 12:24 PM (PDT) Comment 14

I'm gonna hold out 'til the iGuy mini comes out...

Jeremy: To make it more portable, maybe they could have a clip on the back to clip the iGuy onto your bag/jeans etc.? That would most probably make it more portable and an eye catcher, which the iGuy most definately is. Another idea would to have sucker pads or similar... but that would only really work on a window... would still be kinda cool.

To kurosawa nagaya: pretty harsh language, particularly in consideration of all the look-alike drivel that passes for 'must-have' accessories that all these 'i' wannabees pump out. At least this product shows some inventiveness and creativity, regardless of the 'dork' factor. Personally, given the connection and bootup hiccups that several of our iPods have been going through lately, this case seems VERY appropriate.

Now if I only kept my old Gumby and Pokey toys from 4 decades ago...what a matched set...

its creative I'll give it that. Creative but somewhat pointless yea. I'm just saying I think its stupid, it will sell though because people will buy anything.

I mean, its not very practical, but im looking for a stand that will get the jorb done and maybe get a few laughs. you have to drop some extra kale, but oh well.

Posted by Parker Biehn on June 1, 2005 at 5:37 PM (PDT) Comment 18

hey flatline response....

still have Gumby and Pokey on my desk at work... so i guess i gotta get me an iguy to complete the set huh?

can't wait!!

Posted by kitey on June 4, 2005 at 12:14 PM (PDT) Comment 19

oh, by the way. nagaya, i'm a communist, and it's rare when i buy things. So don't call me a capitalist monkey. I needed a good case and stand to protect my pod when it was at home or with me, and none of the other stands or cases transcended the genres, so this one was pricey, but practical for my pod, ergo not pointless for me.

PS: One cannot hook an itrip into the ipod when the iguy fitted.

Woah this thing is so cool! Maybe a little impractical for a case but otherwise how funkaaay!:D wish they made one for my 3G but like a lot of the new cases, only for 4G... when will people realise that people do keep their old ipods?! I personally think some of these new products would look better made for the 3G configuration, but thts my opinion! hehe either way this case/stand rocks.

If you don't get this product then you don't really understand the iPod at all. The iPod is about expression and this product has personality. Maybe it's not your personality, but that's no different than so many other cases that you may or may not like.

I think this would make a great conversion piece, as if having an iPod in the first place wasn't enough. (I get lots of people asking about mine when they see it on my desk at work).

If you want to protect the click wheel, the iSkin Wheel Cap works great with iGuy.
