I simply do not endorse iProducts that place my shuffle in harm's way. A shuffle "perched" on this base in a rigid matter, as this, will eventually be snapped off.

sounds okay. if you're against the audio-in design, then you can run to your local Radio Shack and pick up a male-to-male cable, rather than the connector they provide. then you could just plug the shuffle directly to the usb port on the back and use the cable to connect to the audio-in. odds are even with the purchase of the cable the price is still decent compared to competitors..

iamreprogramed,

In designing any accessory for an iPod, it is logical that the first criterion is to protect the iPod itself. The method in which the iPod is attached here appears to be an afterthought. Your solution is an answer, but there are other means by which this vendor can better this design.

Protection for a $100+ device? Maybe it's just me, but the Shuffle isn't worth the trouble. I certainly can't get excited about keeping MY 1G pristine...it's just a bloody flash player, and a woefully minimalist one at that.

flatline response,

I have mailed a bundle of self-addressed envelopes to me for you to insert those one hundred dollar bills that you discard. I already have the investments chosen whereto they will be applied.

stop trying to impart your ideas and opinions on others. my god it's a shuffle, not a diamond ring. none of us are saying we intend to destroy our shuffle, only that the risk is minimal and in this case, it's ok. it has nothing to do with a hundred dollar bill. if you weren't so poor yourself, you'd understand this.

fahrenheipod451: true, they probably did overlook that aspect until the last minute. But it's already on the market. And i was just saying that if you're looking for a cheap set of quality sounding speakers, then there are ways around that flaw.

and to the others who argued that the shuffle wasnt worth the trouble: for some people it IS worth that trouble. simply because it IS a $100+ investment. that's still a good bit of money, even nowadays.

kensteele: "if you weren't so poor yourself, you'd understand this."?!?!?

i don't even want to think about how ridiculous that makes you sound...

but to stay on the topic of the PodGear Shuffle Station.. what are the two little holes on the side opposite to the usb and power input? they look like inputs, or maybe lights.
