I recently purchased the Otterbox for my iPod shuffle and I would agree that the design is great. Not to beat a dead horse, but there is still a need and a market for a high quality pair of waterproof headphones. As I've asked in other posts, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas regarding high quality waterproof headphones? And please, no need to reply if you're going to recommend waterproofcases.net, swimman.net, or h20 audio, as I have already done my research and found that these manufactures have not yet developed a high quality pair of waterproof headphones.

I have the Apple sports case and was wondering if the armband shown here for the Otterbox for iPod shuffle would fit it?

Just to let you know. I have just received a new Otterbox for my shuffle. The version I have received has a rubber type switch cover that allows you to switch the shuffle on without opening the case.

I have a major issue with the Apple SportCase which made the Otterbox a no-brainer: Apple's design does not play nice with non-Apple headphone designs; you need to use an adapter for third party headphones.
The Otterbox design has an external headphone jack which helps ensure 1) better water resistance, and 2) compatibility with ALL headphone jack designs. The tradeoff is a bit more bulk with the otterbox, but that's not too bad if you imagine you'd need to use Apple' dongle adapter with their SportCase.

Unfortunately, I haven't had very good luck with the Otterbox. We received our first Otterbox and my wife went swimming right away. She loved using it, but after a few laps, she started hearing clicking in her headphones and one channel went out. When she arrived home, I tested the headphones with a different iPod. They worked fine. I then opened up the case and everything looked good, I could see no water. I then detached the Shuffle from the case by unplugging the headphone plug built into the case. Amazingly, there was a drop of water on the TIP of the Otterbox headphone plug. I then blew some air into the iPod shuffle headphone jack, and more water came out. So, somehow, water was running inside the shuffle through the Otterbox headphone plug. This really surprised me.
After 15 minutes of hair-drying, the iPod started working again (whew). We sent the Otterbox back for a replacement. We went through the same process with the replacement, and experienced the same issue. Unfortunately I had to get a refund.
