I just got a white iPod nano for Christmas, and I am trying to find a good case to buy. I was thinking about the tubes, but heard about the very bad scratching problem of taking it in and out. This duo case sounds awesome from most comments, but I am wondering if these have the same scratching problem as the tubes.
Also, I do put my iPod in my pant pockets because with the nanos small size I am able to. But I am worried if I buy a case that it will make the nano too large to fit. The two layers sound very protective, but do sound large.
Does anyone know about these? If so please let me know.

Sorry, I forgot to include --
Does the ipod nano slide into this case? Or does it snap on. Because I am worried about scratches as the nano does easily. What is the point of buying a protective case if the case itself, is going to scratch the iPod.
Please let me know. Thanks. =)

To DDSD: Yes, you can see the battery icon. However the sides of the screen do appear smooshed, but yes, you can see the battery icon clearly. To Lil_QT_Pie, don't worry about the duo's size making the nano that much bigger. Each layer is only 1 mm. That's 2 mm total, which seems pretty minimalist to me ( : The ipod nano slides in through the screen opening in the iskin duo. The inner skin is kind of a tight squeeze. Basically, you take your nano and insert it through the hole where the screen would be for both layers. The iSkin duo will not scratch your iPod, the only way you should get scratches is by putting in the screen protector without caution. If you do it carefully though you won't get scratches on the screen.

i bought this case and wasn't satisfied:After two days, i couldn't recognize the actual color of the case there was so much dust. Also the included screen protector was all scratched up after regular use. All that to say that this case in my opinion does not deserve an "A".

Gosengo, I don't think you can find a soft nano case that's better than this one, so if you don't like it, everything else will probably feel horrible to you. That is to say, other rubber cases can't compare to this one, and if you don't like this, then you might hate everything else.
P.S. Better to have the screen protector scratched than the screen, though : ) . Mine is scratched up too, but I don't really care. No offense to your opinion, I just feel this is one of the highest quality soft-catagory nano cases around and if you don't like it, then, how would you like anything else? I think this case is one of the best out there.
P.P.S. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, it's just IMHO. : )

AUUUUUGH!! I have nearly lost my patience with iSkin! Ordered the Duo for Nano (Phantom Rave) with the headphone offer on Jan 11. In response to my online inquiry on the long delay in shipping, I received first notice on Feb 1 that order was on hold due to 'out of stock' on headphones. On Feb 14, after I emailed another inquiry I was told that earphones were still out of stock but my order would be expidited once they were in. On Feb 17 I was told order had been shipped (standard, not express). Now on Feb 20, I get notice that only cover is being shipped, and not the earphones. iSkin has the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Tajar - it takes them forever to ship. I totally agree. But that's because they're located in Canada. Their headphones are always out of stock though - I can see why you're annoyed with that. Don't be to hard on them- if their headphones are o.o.s. (out of stock) it means everyone's buying them cause they're really good.
And the shipping IS from Canada.

does duel-layer silicon cases really offer better protection than the single layered cases of the same thickness??? what is the physics basis??
Posted by riceflakez on February 25, 2006 at 9:15 PM (PDT)

riceflakez, first of all I love your screenname! I guess the dual offers a little more protection because it has shock absorbers built into it (visit iSkin's site for more details). Plus, the silicone it's made of doesn't scratch your nano like the Apple tubes. Protection wise, it is better because of the shock absorbers. Hope this helped (:

I have just received my first IPOD Nano and iSkin Duo. So far I have not been able to change volume levels through the iskin cover, even with the plastic protector removed. The amount of pressure I need to apply activates menu, track etc. Does this really work for other users or does one have to either cut off the skin or give up the benefits of the double skin if you want to change the volume level?

I can change the volume on my nano, no problem. I will admit the iSkin decreases sensitivity, but I can still use it without problems. Do you have your cover positioned correctly and are you scrolling correctly? I don't know why it is not working for you, since it works fine for me. Why not try using only the outer layer of your case - that way the click wheel won't be covered up. Hope this helped (:

Oh, by the way...a while ago hoomalimali and babydoll asked how the black nano would look in an Arctic Frost case. Well I just noticed this but this whole review is of a black nano in an Arctic Frost case (see the 5th picture for proof. There is a small black space showing by the headphone opening, meaning it's a black nano.) So, that should clear up any problems for black nano users who want Arctic Frost. The whole review is using a black nano, I believe. Sorry I was too dumb to notice that earlier. Hope this helped (although it is late) (:

Thank you nixiecool. My inside cover was not lined up perfectly. I adjusted it and that seems to have solved the problem.

The one thing i didn't get is, can u use the wheel although its coverd?
Posted by Virtual on March 5, 2006 at 11:32 AM (PDT)

Virtual...yes, you can use the wheel. Sensitivity is definately decreased a bit, though. The inner skin is only one millimeter thick, so it's usable. If you couldn't use the wheel, why would iLounge give this product an A and why would people be buying the iSkin?
Just a sincere thought (:
If you don't like the covered-up wheel, you can ditch the inner skin and only use the outer skin. I didn't know you could wear the outer skin on the nano w/out the inner skin until I read this review. Well, now I know. Hope this helped (my signature little ending sentence.) (:
By the way, you're welcome, retired2live.
