I have the previous version, padded and adjustable. You are right on - this new one is not much of a value.

If you think that this product is not much of a value, what do you think would be?

This actually looks like what I am interested in. The problem is that my Monster charger/line out cable doesn't have the same configuration as the Apple dock cable. So it looks like that won't fit.
Is there an "extension cord" available - one end male dock, one end female? That would solve my problem.

OK, next question. Will a Monster Ultra-Low Profile connector fit into this thing? Also, the dock connector requires the sides to be "squeezed" to release the iPod. How would this work using this mount?

Anyone have any experience with this holder?? The review doesn't really mention how well the holder holds the cable connector in place and/or how easily the iPod "docks".. anyone use this and can tell me how solid it is?

I just installed this holder in my car, and I really like it. I agree with others that it's a little expensive, but I think it's worth it. The holder is solid, and the padding of good quality. I also like the fact that I can just "dock" my ipod to the holder using the "SiK imp in-car charger/line out" cable. So far the cable seems held very well to the holder.
