WOW! This looks like a really cool product, but i can't seem to find it anywhere online. I can't decide between an iHome or this.

Doesn't seem nearly as portable as the older i-Station, which I only paid $80 for and still use it quite regularly.

I got this yesterday at Best Buy without doing any back research on this first.

Now that I have I'm not disappointed really at all. The synching process DOES get kind of annoying but if you don't want to wait through it and than have to go back and find your song again you can take 10 seconds to turn the option off.

You can only do this though, and many other things, through the remote so I'm just hoping that I don't lose that.

It looks really great and my 4th generation 20gig fits on it without me having to take off my agent18 case.

Great speaker system and LOUD. It's slightly large so a bit hard to take around but can still fit in a backpack with alot of room to spare.

Bought one, got home, tried it. it whines whilst powered up, I can only assume this is the Amplifier noise? and the resetting back to track one every time you connect made it useless. back to the shop it went.

Shame really as the sound (apart from the whine) was ok.

Great sound quality for the money (£83 in UK). In no way is the Altec im7 worth twice the price (£157 cheapest price in UK). No "whining" unlike MadBob, in fact the amp noise is very low. If you don't like the display feature, it can be disabled which avoids the sync'ing issue mentioned in the review. Highly recommended and worth an A - unlike the i-station 7, which is cheap and nasty and deserving of a C-/D, at best.
