Will Belkin develop a 5G iPod version of this, I think it's a great idea. Or is the 5G too heavy for something like this?

The 5G is way too heavy for a device like this, because the interior of many Auto Tape decks is plastic, the weight of the 5G on the rear corner of the Tape deck could crack the tape deck housing on some older cars, rendering the tape deck useless. if the tape deck is of a certain type, the 5G could pull the deck out if it isn't mounted securely.

An excellent solution for cars with a cassette deck. Works better than any other non-direct wired car adapter I've used - including car-specific FM units. Well made, looks great, and perfectly fits my WRX's stock stereo. I purchased it from buy.com for $34.95 with free shipping, - a bargain. I can see where the negatives listed in the review apply - but even as I upgrade my iPod, I'd keep this around to use with a nano.

This product will not work on Audi's. The tape cartridge heads are read on the left side of the tape unit, hence using the TuneDeck on these models will yield an upside down iPod!
Be sure to confirm whether your tape heads are on the right before ordering this product. Belkin support is also the worst in the industry! Purchase with caution or from a local vendor that has a good return policy.

Does anyone know if this product will work with the new 2G Nanos?
Belkin's website does not show this as a compatible accessory for the 2G Nano - so are the bottom dimensions so different that a 2G wont fit?
Anyone out there with a TuneDeck want to conduct an experiment for the iLounge faithful?

Before purchasing, I also contacted Belkin. They told me that this product was compatible with BOTH Nano models, the 1st and 2nd generation Nano's. Therefore, i ordered it. I was disappointed, to say the least, when it arrived and my 4GB Gen 2 Nano did NOT fit. I even checked on Belkin's website, and they show a silver 2nd Gen Nano in the product! Also, the Part # and UPC # matched from Belkin's site, to the box of the TuneDeck I purchased. Below is the email from Belkin.
Thank you for contacting Belkin Logistics Customer Service.
The F8Z064 works with both iPod Nano's.
Please include all correspondence with any reply.
Thank you,
Gwendolyn Johnson

I forgot to mention... when i contacted Belkin, I asked if the product would work with both the first Generation and second generation iPod Nano's.
Also... I found this in the product descriptioin on Amazon.com
"Designed to fit the iPod nano 1G, and iPod nano 2G, the Belkin F8Z064 TuneDeck comes in a sleek black finish, and is backed by a manufacturer's lifetime warranty."

Here is an update from Belkin that may help:
Yes, part # F8Z064 is compatible with the iPod Nano 2G. You will need part #F8Z146x - iPod 2G adapter sleeve for it to be secured. Please reply with your mailing address so that I can have the adapter sleeve shipped out to you on Mon.
