I just downloaded itunes and am having some trouble importing music -- most of my collection was ripped using Winamp. Any sugggestions on how I can get itunes to recognize the files to import them?

dear gallerystorage, i think you should try the forums, but if it is WMA audio, there are a lot of free wma-to-mp3 converters. Once you convert them, judt bury them in some folder, then click "import" in itunes's file menu, navigate to the files, then click on them. that should work. if they are just MP3 files, then navigate to their location in itunes.

This seems like a proof of concept more than a viable product. Slap a small camera on a H.264 hardware encoder (which records directly to an iPod, BTW) and we'll be talking about a new killer app for an iPod.

This device is just what i need i just have one question, what happens when you update your ipod with itunes, does itunes ereases the movies or TV shows, since it works itunes to ipod, not ipod to itunes.

All these recording devices are neat but what's wrong with just buying a video capture device such as:

I have an iRecord unit, and i recently updated my iPod(80GB Mac formatted) to firmware version 1.2.1. It works perfectly with iRecord. No problems observed so far.

Secondly almost All TV's that i have seen have video output. If your playing device has a single output, you may connect that output to your TV, and connect output of your TV to iRecord. Hence watching while recording at the same time.

am extremely disappointed at the rating given to the iRecord by iLounge . I was at CES and was one of the many who visited Streaming Networks booth. But since it was early in the morning, I got a chance to have demos for iPod, PSP, USB thumb drives AND cell phones along with demos of the three new utilities they have available on their site upon request ( One for taking recordings from your iPod onto iTunes, one for schedule recording and one for setting the bit rate) and I have to say; it was just amazing. So far theyve only had to send out ONE upgrade and that too is to support cell phones. From what I heard the second upgrade will be released to support iPhone and Trio. Point is that it recorded onto my iPods perfectly ( I tried it on my 80 GB Mac formatted and 60 GB PC formatted). The video quality is amazing. . From the way iLounge wrote the review youd think it was junk. But you can actually record PROTECTED DVDs and CDs directly onto your iPod so no paying iTunes. So that makes me wonder if iLounge has some affiliation with Apple. I mean who wouldnt want to record have movies and music onto their iPod for free?
