I've had this case since I bought my mini -- it was recommended to me by an Apple Store employee as the best case. I didn't know anything about cases at the time, but now that I do I agree. I even got one for my fiance to go with the gold mini I got him for Christmas. I love it for its looks and shock protection. I generally use it with the belt clip that came with my mini.
The dock hole is small, but with minimal fiddling I can get my Belkin car charger to work with it. It's also fairly easy to remove when you want to dock your mini -- just press on the area around the click wheel to pop the front off.
I don't have a problem with the exposed area around the click wheel. The case is thick enough to provide a sort of barrier to scratches even if this area isn't covered.
I'm considering buying an ipodonut or wheel film to make this case complete.
Thanks for the review! I've been waiting for this one.

I picked this up at my local Apple store after seeing it online. What a great case! I have had it now for about 2-months and it has served all my needs.
It's an "Everyday" case, a "Clip onto Your Belt" case when used with the belt clip that came w/ your ipod, and it's a great "Workout Case" when used with the ipod armband.
It's very protective. After purchasing several cases trying to meet different needs, I found one that does all well. As for the larger opening around the click wheel, I love it. It make it much easier to navigate vs. my other 3-cases and also shows off a little of your personal color choice. This is my only case!

bought this from my local apple store too. its a great case. i mean, first time i bought my mini, i was so careful where i put it, and if i put it in my pocket not to put my keys or coins in the same pocket. now, with this case... i don't have to worry about such things. the rubberized ends are great for gripping surfaces so it doesn't slide so easily if you accidentally pull the cord, and it also acts as a dampener should u drop it. the screen is protected as well. removing ur ipod is simple and quick, yet the case manages to hold ur ipod securely. when i get in my car, i have to remove it because the connector on monster's icarplay is too big for the space provided by this case. overall, i recommend this case for mini ipod owners to put ur mind at ease.

This case is absolutely superb! I purchased the brand-new metallic green Ipod-Mini and wanted to show off the fabulous color instead of hiding it behind a case, so I didn't purchase one right away. After about a week of using my Ipod and having to be extra careful avoiding scratches etc. I decided to peruse the selection of cases available for the device. At first I was immediately attracted to the upscale designer cases with the huge price-tags. Upon closer inspection I decided that they did not offer the level of protection I was seeking for my Ipod. I investigated many other cases and came upon the Agent 18 Mini Shock. I went to an apple location and purchased it right away. Lets just say I haven't regretted it one bit! It's a gorgeous case with the ultimate protection for the device. I use the front of the case along with apple's belt-clip (included in Ipod mini's Box). The case makes the Ipod appear slightly bigger than it's actual size but it's worth it! I haven't dropped my Ipod as yet (knock on wood), but I'm confident that the case will protect it fully. Now... what are you waiting for?....Get the Case!.......

The only shock about this case was that it was a total disappointment. It's hard to remove the mini from the case, so it's a poor choice for someone who uses a dock. It scratches easily. And it offers no protection for the click wheel. If you're planning to use the belt clip or armband, then this case offers a bit more protection. But if you're looking for something to protect your mini so that you can throw it into a jacket pocket, briefcase, or purse, then look elsewhere. Your keys will destroy the case and possibly the iPod as well.
Mine went back to the store this afternoon.
