Wasn't this thing supposed to have an alarm-clock function?

Build Quality is an issue... I've had mine for 6 weeks and the ipod connector no longer functions properly (you have to tilt the ipod for it to sound). Dimensional control on the adapters is weak (at best). My nano does not fit in the provided adapter and my 3G does not go all the way in (does not connect). I'm going to get mine exchanged.

I'm having the same problem as ithaska. My 30 GB iPod won't (never did) seat properly in the dock - even using the adapter that came with it. The only way to get it to play is to pull it forward and stuff something behind it to hold it in place. Cnet.com mentioned this in their product review too. I emailed Altec Lansing customer service and got no reply so I think I'm going to return mine too.

As a follow up to my comment of 7/1, I called Altec Lansing customer service today and was told I am the first person who ever complained about having to tilt my iPod forward in the dock to make a connection. I explained that I have no problem docking my iPod to my Bose - just to rule out the possibility that the problem was my iPod. I also pointed out that cnet.com referred to a docking problem saying the system does not secure the iPod from falling out in their review. This guy insisted that nobody ever complained about any of this before. Now they are definitely getting it back.

We just started having the same problem with our IM600. No sound unless we pull the Nano forward. Going to take ours back.

One thing keeping me from buying this thing: does it have Audio output?
Its mentioned in no review but its never denied either.
Maybe it could be possible to get the audio out trough the video port.
Or just a headphone port would be enough.
