Are there any other alternative brands available now? I noticed that its price on the Belkin website has dropped so I assumed they've got competition or maybe coming up with a new model.

I have tried to use the Belkin card reader with Sony memory sticks. It seems to work fine with standard memory sticks up to 128 Mb. But I Have not been able to use it with either Memory stick pro or pro duo with the adapter. I use only Sony branded memory so my problem is not Lexar. I have contected Belkiin support desk and they have indicated to me that they do NOT support the pro or pro duo at this time. . I Have several 512MB pro duo sticks I do not want to buy any more 128 Mb sticks. If anyone has been able to make a pro version work I would like to hear from you

Hi, I have just purchased a Belkin Media Reader and have now discovered that it is not compatible with my Lexar Media Memory Stick Pro 256MB. It will however transfer photos successfully from my Sony Memory Stick 16MB which came free with my digital camera. Unfortunately I will need to buy a new stick for my trip to France this July. Which memory stick should I buy? I want to buy another Sony one, but should I get the 128MB or 256MB? I hope to get the 256MB if possible. Is this sensible?

I have a panasonic av100 camcorder which records in mpeg2 on a sd card
Does the Belkin recognise the format?
If not can anyone reccomend one that recognises video files

I bought the new color iPod and Belkin Media Reader last night. Currently I'm performing a test of copying 918MB from my Sandisk CF II, and I *wish* I was observing ~2s/MB transfer rates. What I'm seeing is almost 5s/MB. After 50 mins it has copied 383/574 photos which I estimate to be 612MB/918MB. The iPod battery looks to be about 1/3 left so it might make it but it will be close. If I was really getting the 2s/MB at least I could comfortably do 1 full dump.
I also tried the Belkin Data Link?, but it didn't seem to like my existing reader or my Digital Rebel XT.
Any comments on my observed speed?

i'm confused. i recently bought an 80GB ipod with software version 1.2.1. i also bought a belkin media reader that says it works with ipod software 2.1 or later. how can a product made in 2003 require a software version later than what's on my brand new ipod (which also says there are no updates available)? when i follow the media reader instructions & plug it into my ipod, i get the following message, "the currently attached accessory is not supported by this ipod." neither does the light on the media reader come on. what do i need to do to make this setup work?

addenda to above:
if it makes any difference, i use OS 10.4.10, & the media reader did not work with my ipod mini either. the belkin packaging says, "for ipods with dock connector," which of course both the mini & the 80GB have. so what's going on here?
