I just installed one of the Blitzsafe Universal iPod Interfaces in my 2007 Honda Fit and it works great. I purchased the vehicle specific Honda model HON/M-LINK1 V.2X which also allows the use of satellite radio by way of a pass thru harness.

There are two options with the Blitzsafe UII. A vehicle specific UII can be installed or a generic UII can be used. If a vehicle specific model isn't available for a given car, the generic UII must be coupled with an auxilliary input interface. The generic UII will connect to the auxilliary input interface via RCA plugs.

The UII model I chose plugs directly into the cd cahnger controller data port on the back of the factory stereo. It is accessed by pressing the AUX button on the face of the stereo. Installation was very simple as there are no power wires to be connected. Simply plug the interface plug into the cd changer controller data port, find a suitable mounting position for the UII behind the dash and run the dock connector into the passenger area. Power is provided by the factory stereo on my particular model.

All control of the iPod is through the iPod itelf, which I prefer. Some of the other iPod interfaces on the market allow control of the iPod through the stereo but that control is somewhat limited. For example, the Honda brand interface only allows access to 6 playlists. It also uses Text To Speech to navigate as the iPod is hidden in the glove box. Many of the reviews for the Honda brand interface have said that it is difficult to use. I like having the ability to see the iPod display.

The UII is a much better option than FM transmitters and FM modulators. The sound quality is excellent and the installation looks like it was meant to be that way from the factory since there is only the single dock connection wire.

I am very happy with this product and I would recommend it to everyone.

I have installed 2 of these interfaces. One in a 2002 VW Passat and the other in a 2004 Civic. Both plugged directly into the CD changer port on the factory head unit. The Passat has the upgraded Monsoon system and the difference between the Blitzsafe interface and a $30 Sony cassette adapter is significant. Both work great and both have been replaced at no charge due to shattered iPod connectors (pilot error on both counts). The replacement interfaces came with user replacable iPod cables. Blitzsafe honors their lifetime waranty even when you tell them you slammed the console lid on the connector. All in all a great product with great service for $80.
