Follow-up:
More on the bush league DLO engineering...After looking at the issue more closely, the Artist, Album etc. menus do NOT populate when a song is currently playing. They function properly ONLY when no song is playing.
Emailed DLO and they said to update the iPod's software (already was) then try resetting the iPod. This of course did absolutely no good. Tried another dock with other iPods at the store. Same issues.
DLO honestly doesn't seem to know these things are f-ed up - They blame Apple.
iLounge doesn't seem to do very thorough testing when reviewing either. This is a pretty big defect to miss!
Going back for a refund.

We conduct substantial testing of each product reviewed on the site, however, this doesn't mean that every review is an exhaustive cataloging of potential praise, complaints, or defects. That's why our comments section is here, for readers to voice their opinions about products and provide additional information to other readers.
Frankly, we have noted before that we feel uncomfortable with both the price tags for today's on-TV display docks and the aggregate level of performance they offer for the dollar. That said, if you're going to return consumer electronics products over any little glitch they exhibit, you will spend a lot of time waiting in return lines - they are seldom perfect and frequently offer many such opportunities for dissatisfaction.

Bottom line for me is that, despite it's glitches, I've found the HomeDock Deluxe very useful and I'm glad I bought it. I wanted/needed a dock that supported on-TV navigation. The options were the HomeDock Deluxe or the Griffin TuneCenter. The HomeDock Deluxe was available, the TuneCenter wasn't... Easy choice.
For the most part, it works as advertised and the glitches don't often get in the way of using it very successfully.
My only REAL annoyance has been how weak the remote seems to be. That's solved by using the Harmony remote instead (other than the lack of "repeat scrolling" issues described above).
BTW, with regards to the songs not populating issue - I've only ever encountered that when I come back from the screen saver (hey, the TuneCenter doesn't even HAVE a screen saver <g>)... I frequently navigate while a song is playing without seeing that problem.

I just purchased the NEW Home Deluxe that was supposedly shipping in March. Apparently, they are shipping them early if you preorder it. I will be getting mine on 2/27. I will post any questions that anyone may have as soon as I get it.

Well I just received the NEW Home Deluxe Dock today. It is going bach tomorrow. This thing is a piece of crap. For starters, the remote sucks. Second, the audio quality is poor, and the album art is blurry and very small. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
