The problem with this version of Mahjong is that it's not even actual Mahjong. I would love to see actual Chinese or Japanese-style Mahjong on the iPod, not just a match game using Mahjong tiles.

Though not mentioned in your review the choosing tile via control wheel must be awfully awkward compared to other versions of the game using mouse (PC) or touch screen (palm).

Using the control wheel is actually pretty smooth. It moves rather quickly through the tiles, and stops on a dime. It's pretty easy to see all the tiles, and overall a great time killer.
