I would like one of these or something similar, but I am really not interested in removing (or dremelling out the top of) my Contour Showcase in order to do so. Considering how many top-mount accessories there are (FM transmitters; microphones; tiny speakers; etc), and considering that all of these accessories are meant to be used when your iPod is somewhere other than safely in your pocket, isn't it about time somebody came out with some sort of solution? What I'm envisioning (but have no way to make, alas) is a small headphone/data connector extension that fits into the top access hole of a case and gives you the clearance needed to attach top-mount accessories, sort of like a Pocket Dock for the other end of the iPod. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I would buy one in an instant.
