I'm considering an ITrip but have a few hang-ups, it doesn't fit with the case I want (Pac Rim IShield) and the programming process sounds complicated. If I go on short drives, and say, shut it off to run in a store, do I have to run the ITrip playlist, pause it, then play my songs, every time I start the car up? I'm sorry, I don't quite understand this item yet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I bought an iTrip together with a 40GB in Abu Dhabi duty free. It is genuinely impressive. It does however reduce the battery life considerably so if you use it in the car its a good idea to buy a car charger at the same time!

Has anyone had trouble using the iTrip in certain cars and not others? I have a 911 here in the UK in which it doesn't work, but have managed to get it to work in a Ford in the US and a Jeep in Jamaica. Is this a car issue or a country issue?
Help please!

First, I think it's a great idea and convenient when moving between cars or connecting to a home stereo. My gripe with it has more to do with my location: NYC. I live in Queens and commute to work in Long Island. I find myself switching between frequencies during my commutes to and from because of the sound quality and the break-ups. I find this inconvenient and somewhat annoying. I have a hard time looking for a "free" fm frequency because they seem to be taken up or it's too close to an available one.

I want to hear near-CD quality music but I don't think this will work FOR ME and MY LOCATION. I think it works much better in areas where most of the frequencies aren't being occupied. NYC/Long Island is not ideal for this item.
I've decided to hardwire the Belkin auto kit charger to my car receiver and go through the aux input of my receiver. I'm waiting to receive the charger in the mail and then I have to go out and buy the aux adaptor for my receiver. As soon as I get those two I'll be doing some soldering
Like I said, great product but for particular areas where there are more unoccupied FM frequencies.

There doesn't seem to be any recent postings about the itrip,. so I will give you my take...I bought mine Jan '04 and used it in the Boston area as well as cape cod and Vermont...It is incredibly difficult to get a station and frustrating when you are out of range...The sound was OK, but the system in general was a nightmare. I used it because I was told that it was the best, i lost it in shanghai, and I could care less. I just hope i will find something else that is better...Why can't they make something that goes over the Satalite radio system?? There is the Billion dollar idea!!
