There doesn't seem to be any recent postings about the itrip,. so I will give you my take...I bought mine Jan '04 and used it in the Boston area as well as cape cod and Vermont...It is incredibly difficult to get a station and frustrating when you are out of range...The sound was OK, but the system in general was a nightmare. I used it because I was told that it was the best, i lost it in shanghai, and I could care less. I just hope i will find something else that is better...Why can't they make something that goes over the Satalite radio system?? There is the Billion dollar idea!!

As a UK user I wasn't sure if this would work, imagine my delight when I simply tuned my home stereo systems tuner into the pre-set 87.9 that my U2 iPod works on and hey presto music! Clear no fuss or hiss quite brilliant! in black it matches the U2, it really is 'the bomb'. I love it!

The Griffin itrip is a must. It looks really clean (like an original apple product) and works great. I have no problem playing my music in my car. I highly recomend this product. I chose this over the belkin product which my friend has. I recomend this product to anyone who wants clear sound and a well built product. For those who are having problems finding open radio stations in their area, go to the Griffin website and download the itrip station finder. I am going to purchase an itrip, but I live in Phoenix, Az and we have a lot of radio stations. How do I check my radio for open stations or how many spaces between stations do I need to look for a good transmission?

Got my iTrip almost a week ago, and it perfectly works fine in either of my vehicles. I use it with the Belkin Tune Dock which sits in one of the cupholders, and it's a nice looking and conveniently placed set-up.

Up here in the north Chicago suburbs where I live and drive, the preset frequency works just fine.

Out of curiosity, I tried it today in my home by placing it near my home amp and tuner -- but here was way too much static.

However, I believe there is a cable available that connects from the iPod's headphone jack to a set of audio inputs in back of the amp. This would probably be the way to go for home use.

The iTrip is the first and only FM transmitter I have owned. I purchased it with my 4G iPod and it works great. Some stations can prove tempermental as with any FM transmitter however, here in the Orlando area, the default station 87.9 works excellent. So far I heve used the iTrip in two BMW 3-series, a Honda Accord, GMC Yukon, Toyota Celica and Subaru WRX STI with total success.
