I can't listen using earbuds at work, but I can use a radio. For me this was static free placed a foot os so from the radio on my desk. So for that it was great. In my Ford, which has a power antenna, there was still some static. In my wife's Toyota with no power antenna it was unusable. My final solution for both cars was to get an inexpensive auxilary adapter to plug into the cd changer port on both car stereos from abtelectronics.com. The sound is perfect now.

Very disappointing!
I travel 300 days per year all over the US and drive a variety of rentals. None have cassette decks, so I needed an FM transmitter. This iTrip sucks. I have yet to find any frequency anywhere I have been (UT, CA, NM, MO, WI, KS, WV) where it works without static. Unfortunately, I could not return it because MediaPlay went out of business before I got the chance. Now this piece of junk has added to the clutter in the bottom of my desk drawer. I use the Monster that also recharges. I get much better performance from that.
