Whose Lexus is it in the pictures?
What model is it?

I have the iTrip Nano, which I love. I too was disappointed when I saw that Tuneflex (which looks pretty cool) isn't compatible with it. However, in practical use, I haven't yet found not having a charger a big deal with my iTrip -- I use it driving around town, tucked into a slot on my dash, for a couple of days, and then charge it at home.
If I was planning a longer trip, I'd have to choose a charger.

No mention of the quality of sound coming out of the Tuneflex + Smartdeck combination?

I am the project manager for the TuneFlex. Unfortunately, iLounge received an early article that had incorrect resistor population. As a result, the attenuation circuit did not function correctly.
Every shipping unit will have proper level correction without bass distortion. That should bring the grade up to an A-, right??

Will this work with a Scosche FM transmitter that plugs into the headphone port and a nano?

I finally got my TuneFlex after 1.5 months on backorder with MacMall. After just a few days of use, I've found that whenever the iPod is playing, it makes a background whine that is very noticible at any but the highest volume on the nano and the stereo. Especially annoying during podcasts and pauses between songs.
I love the line-out port location, auto-pause when turning the ignition off, and sleek looks, but if I was willing to settle for mediocre audio quality, I would have just got a FM transmitter. I'm contacting Griffin Support.

sasasa: no, the nano won't fit with a silicone case on it.

steve_eddy: I'm not familiar with the Scosche, but the TuneFlex blocks the headphone port on the bottom of the nano, so I expect a transmitter that uses an 1/8" minijack would not work with it. However, it does replicate the dock port, so most accessories with a dock plug should work.

I contacted Griffin about the whining issue, and they suggested I make sure my car's 12v outlet and the stereo share the same ground. This required my center console and half my dashboard, and still didn't fix the problem. I think the TuneFlex has a serious problem running on a noisy power feed. Maybe the Lexus iLounge tests it on has a nice, smooth, constant +12V, but I suspect there are plenty of other cars that would run into trouble here.

Will the new nanos fit?

This does not work with the new 2nd Gen Nanos. I found one for $14 so I bought it with the idea of modifying it to fit. All I needed to do was sand down a small lip on the right side of the cradle and it fit perfectly. I like the sound and I definitely notice a difference between the Lo and Hi setting. Overall I am satisfied.
