I have tried many battery powered speaker systems over the years, and this is by far the best for active outdoor use. The exterior controls are a big plus that I was missing on my last water-resistant case. The speakers sound very good, especially for this size, and the mounting backets work great. The extra bracket is great for bicycles, and can be easily removed. The iH19's design is great, with audio in- and outputs, and the overall feel is better than I expected from an iHome product. This system may replace my old Boom Tube as my most-used portable speaker system, if only because it's easier to replace rechargeable AA bateries than a built-in lithium ion battery. I still the Boom Tube props as the best sounding system, but this one takes the cake as the easiest and most portable, especially because you can charge your ipod while it's safely zipped inside. This has my highest reccomendation.

I just bought this product. It's a nice and simple little system, sturdily built and fairly decent sounding (a little weak on the treble side but nothing you can't fix changing the iPod's EQ).
Pros: Dock connection, good quality build, overall design, sound good enough.
Cons:It would be better if the velcro flap could go all the way around, protecting the zippers from water/sand/abrasion. Don't know if the speakers are actually water resistant.

Furthermore, this thing is too heavy to put on a bike if you intend to do anything but go around the block (The whole boombox-on-bike thing is kinda silly anyway).

I found the sound really weak on the treble side and couldn't seem to fix it using the iPod EQ. The controls are a pain as you can't see the iPod screen (which doesn't help when you are trying to scroll through 6500 songs) and it is quite bulky which you realise after carrying it around for a while.
I would hardly call this portable. There are too many things going on in this product that has sacrificed the size of the product to make it truely portable.

Recently found this @ Costco for $49! A great buy for the price. I don't plan on biking with it or submersing it in water! It's great for my office or any outdooor event. I didn't expect it to sound like it would if I played my iPod thru my stereo but it's ample for my situation.
