I have had my SX 3000R for a couple weeks now. I got it through Airmiles since it seemed a better deal than most items, i.e., less than 10 miles per retail $1.
What I liked about the description was the built in FM radio and the iPod docking.
I'm no audiphile, so the sound is fine for me. I typically listen to more podcasts than music. My main complaint about the device is that the FM radio does not seem to work unless my iPod is docked. This is a little annoying. Since there are only 3 station presets, it would be easy to use without the station display. Apart from that, all is good. The distance for the remote works for me.

There are some serious problems with this product, or at least with the one I just received. In case it matters, the iPod I'm using is a 2nd gen nano 8 Gig.
Powering on and off, the SX 3000R pops *loudly*.
Listening to quieter music on the AUX port, the unit will automatically turn off after one minute (with a loud POP!). Switching to louder music gets it to turn back on (POP!).
The remote will not turn it on or off without an iPod plugged into it. There is no power button (it's an IR window where the button was on the SX 2000 model)
There's no "scan" on the FM radio; you have to manually hunt (by bizarre .1 MHz intervals as mentioned).
The volume on the remote does something strange - volume continues to go louder past "full" bar and quieter past "empty". That's different from the buttons on the base - volume changes, bar doesn't, which is again different from dialing the volume on an attached iPod (the bar moves, volume doesn't). The volume bar on the ipod screen is inconsistent, and rarely representative of the actual volume.
The Kensington SX 3000R is unusable for me like this, unless I never want to listen to Chopin's nocturnes again. I'd be interested to know if some of this is just my unit or if these behaviors are all aspects of the design. Moreover, if *any* of these misfeatures are part of the design and present in all units, I'm interested to know why none of them made it into this or the previous SX 2000 reviews.
