I need a bottom line here - I like the JBL ONStage speakers quite a bit - but I'm very interested in these Logic3's. I consider them to have the same portability - for the money (which is about the same) which is the better system? Which would you buy Jeremy????

I have the same low level hum as iPod Jedi and they sent me another power supply - this _did_not_ fix the problem.
I'm pretty certain I could fix it if I could get the case open, but don't want to damage it.
The only work around I've found is to ensure a grounded USB or Firewire cable is attached.

My iStation also suffers from quite a high level of hum at low volume, made a great deal worse by touching the front panel. I suspected the power supply as there's no hum using batteries. I built an in line filter which made no difference, but noticed that when I touched the negative input line the hum stopped. I think the problem is lack of shielding within the unit, and earthing the chassis is the answer (as suggested by stutty) I think that a transformer power supply with a grounded secondary rather than the switch mode type supplied may be the answer, that's my next step anyway. Anybody tried this?

does anyone know if you can use the 20GB photo with a silicone case or won't it fit in the dock?

I've had three of these units from ASDA Wal*Mart and all have gone back with blown transformers. The store informed me that they had so many returned that they won't stock them again. They were badged as 'Dual' which seems to be ASDA's OEM label. They sounded ok and for £24.97, I wouldn't complain at all. Shame they got a dodgy batch of transformers. (And I did try and find another one that would fit the very small connector on the back!)

Guys and gals sorted out the IR remote issue which is a main reason for not choosing the i station. Get the Logic 3 IR Remote IP111 for about £20, plug it in your pod and voila, an i station avec remote

I've had them since Christmas, and these speakers are great. I'm a high school junior, and I took these on a school retreat and we played them on the bus and in the cabins. They filled up the room and sounded great up until the loudest setting, when distortion was overwhelming. I use them primarily as bedside speakers with portability--I take them on pretty much every trip I go on--and they perform just fine, particularly for the price. Someday I will want to upgrade to louder and bigger speakers in a higher price range, but for now the iStation is a great choice.

Im not a hifi geek, but I am a slight enthusiast owning a Nad system and Kef floorstands, so I know good quality sound when I hear it - and I have to say I was very impressed with these when I got them home! I've never heard the inmotion's so I cant make a comparison to similar products, but for the size of these things I cant believe the sound they make! I have a £200 sony portable boom box which is big and has large speakers, yet doesn't even come close to the room filling sound, and fidelity of these speakers. Bottom line is they are small, take 4AA's, and are no bigger than a book! and they really are quite loud too, have a good sound stage, produce bass that you CAN actually hear (unlike my sony boom box) and sound more like a half descent micro system than a set of portable speakers.
In the UK the inmotions are double the price in all my local stores, and I cant believe they could be twice as good!?

The best gift I've gotten in years is this little speaker system. I set it up in 5 minutes & naturally cranked it up loud figuring it would sound horrible. To my shock these speakers sounded BETTER the louder I sent them.. no static at all as mentioned in another review! The sound filled our big open kitchen/family room which flows into another large living area. No need for an fm transmitter in the car! and it takes up zero room in my carry-on. Outdoors by the pool it's at its best!
