are these better than the pacrim cube or clamshell speakers? i can't decide which one to get.

I was wondering the same thing. You say they're not comparable but both don't have a true dock, take from the headphone jack, and are cheaper than their competitors. I need some advice here!

I have a 4g 40GB iPod in an iSee case. If I were to use the largest of the cradles, do you think the iPod would fit while still in the case, or would I be required to remove the iPod from the case first? Any idea?

I am sad of the input is by the top of the ipod, this mean, pass by preamp of the ipod, causing loss a bit of audio quality. Thoses speakers, would be much better, with a mid 3 inch plus one of theses tweeter.

I purchased the pacific rim speakers and was not happy with them. I then purchased the Logic3 iStation and was blown away. The Logic3s have good but not terrific range and are perfect for hotel rooms and picnic tables in the park. For the extra 20 bucks buy the Logic3s.

I definitely agree with jerokaz on that one... the Logic3 iStation blows away all of the portable systems that I have heard. JBL onStage onTour, Altec iM1 & iM3, Macally Podwave. They are an amazing value and unless you're gonna be by an outlet at ALL times, you can't beat the battery-operated sound.
The Logitech system just seems like a "me too" move for the portable speaker market. Sure its cheap, but it seems too cheap... You can get the iStation for 10 bucks more and have a much better product.

Why would you buy a portable speaker system for $80 and up when you could just spend $40 on the icable and hook it up to any stereo system.

No unless you plug in a USB or FireWire cable into the dock connector on the bottom, because the audio comes out the headphone port. Pretty cheap design.

i really like these speakers... i bought them for my last camping holiday with some friends and we were surprised about the sound of the small drivers. the only thing i didn't like very much was the bad bass on higher/highest volume...
but everything at all: nice & beatiful

For speakers like this, it makes absolutely ZERO difference whether the signal is coming from the dock/line-out or through the headphone jack.
Really, the amp and speakers are not good enough for there to be any difference.
