This is the younger sibling to the MM50 in many ways. There's no iPod dock and this is a good thing for those who want to use it with a non-iPod or laptop.
I just purchased this and it's perfect for using with my laptop. And with little extra bulk, it easily fits in the laptop case. Also stands well on the plastic lid, is light weight and small footprint - 11 1/2" x 4 1/4"
As for sound, it's very good and is loud enough for average size rooms or the office. Loud enough to entertain those a few desks away and/or to get you in trouble with your boss.
One word of caution - adjust the volume on your source unit to zero first before allowing audio flow. Otherwise, it could start off at full volume which could damage the speakers.
