This says it is compatible with the ipod nano aluminum but does anyone know if it is compatible with the 1st gen nano? Also I'd like to know how accessible the click wheel is. I've had an ipod case before that had a clear cover on the front and it made the click wheel difficult to use.

Yep, according to this website review:
http://www.thinkmac.net/blog/archives/review-sportsuit-relay-and-sportsuit-sensor-from-marware.html
it *does* fit 1st gen ipod nanos as well.
Also apparently the click wheel is still accessible but requires slightly harder keypresses

The sensor pouch works great. Easy to put on and take off, and it my pace count was more accurate than my car odometer. The wrist band is far too short. It is hard to get it closed on my wrist, and the extension makes it too long for my wrist and too short for my arm. The extension also makes it feel flimsy, since the d-ring slides around. On a small wrist it looks good and works well.
