For some reason, despite a heavily-packed radio dial, my iTrip (bulky? it's tiny AND wire-free) works great at 87.7 everywhere I've been in three states--or occasionally, 87.9. Try 87.7, and set volume to 60%. Works perfectly for me. Lower/remove your external antenna if you still get interference, but I'm 99.999% crackle-free even with the antenna left up. The same could NOT be said at busy frequencies with higher numbers.

This is by far the best FM tuner out there. I had originally bought the Monster Icarplay and had nothing but problems. Eventually, I was able to find a station (101.3 in chicago) that comes through decent on my ipod, but where the product fails is that it attatches through the ipod connection and not the headphone jack. As a result, I got muffled sound and had to keep turning my car stereo up higher and higher, resulting in just loud muffled music. I bought the road trip, and was skeptical, but hey, for 20 bucks, why not. Not only was it clear on 107.7, I never have heard any static even traveling an hour to and from work everyday through many variations of radio frequencies in the chicago area, and never had a problem. And since it connects through the headphone jack, everything comes in as clear and crisp as your digital music. I sold my Monster Icarplay on ebay shortly after buying this, and i'm never looking back.
