Nyko iBoost mini Battery Pack | iLounge

Good review.

It sounds like new iPods have a battery life of 12-18 hours. In my opinion, that's pretty stinking good.

Are people really willing to attach this thing to the elegant, thin iPod (especially mini)?

If you're that concerned about battery life, why not pay $20 extra (vs. this $79 external battery) and get a brand new iPod from apple through the battery replacement program?

Then you don't have some clunky ipod battery...just the simple elegant iPod with a new battery.

I think some people would, especially those who travel abroad.

Even with the new 18+ hour batteries (I've gotten 24+ hours on mine), it is not enough if one travels half-way around the world.

Flights are up to 16 hours long, at once, but don't forget the layovers, connecting flights, those 2 or 3 hours each add up. A trip from Indianapolis to Hong Kong could take over a day and a half.

This battery is definately the sleekest in my opinion, and the extra 18 hours for a total of 36 hours is definately helpful.

Take Care All

Replacing the battery in a first generation iPod mini is not going to give you 2nd gen iPod mini battery life. As has been reported, the new iPod mini uses the same battery as before, it simply uses a lot less power than the 1st gen mini.

Are these things for sale yet? I can't seem to find the iBoost mini on the website, just the iBoost, and that's not for sale yet...

I bought one of these for my iPod photo, and it fit in it just fine, but it gouged two groves into the side of my iPod the first time I put it on. I bought it thinking I would be able to hook up the iPod camera connector and get double the battery life, since it has the dock connector, but this was not possible. I returned it five minutes after I bought it.

Also, It WAS the full size one...I didn't try to cram my iPod photo into the mini version smile Sorry I didn't make that clear.
